In episode 6 of the recently released Star Wars animated show Tales of the Jedi, we saw Ahsoka face off against an Inquisitor and dispatch him effortlessly. She used exactly 3 moves- 2 dodges and one death slash to end the fight. And before it had begun, it was over. It showed her superiority and experience in the battlefield.
But how was Ahsoka able to end the match so quickly? We know the answer and it’s Anakin. Scroll down to know the explanation.

How Did Anakin Help Ahsoka Win The Inquisitor Fight?

Ahsoka was Anakin’s padawan and trained under him. Apart from the usual training, his way of teaching was unorthodox as he encouraged her to think outside the box. He believed that in the real world it’s a life and death situation and she needs to be ready. In episode 5 of Tales of the Jedi, titled “Practise Makes Perfect”, he put her in different training situations.

First she trained with training droids and when she mastered that, Anakin contacted captain Rex from the 501st to set up a new fight challenge for Ahsoka. The clones surrounded Ahsoka and attacked her, but Anakin instructed them to set their weapons to stun only. In this training, Ahsoka got stunned repeatedly. But she always got up and managed to fight for 5 minutes against the barrage of attacks before getting stunned again by Rex’s dual blasters.

In the episode we see her learn how to move swiftly, expertly dodge, and use the force to sense her opponents. All of these are the skills she used to gain victory over the Sixth Brother, her Inquisitor opponent in episode 6 of the animated show. So it was Anakin’s relentless training that allowed her to dominate her opponent so thoroughly. It also needs to be mentioned that Ahsoka won because the Inquisitor was arrogant and underestimated her.

He thought that she was vulnerable without a lightsaber, but she wasn’t. Armed with her training and powerful connection to the Force she prevailed effortlessly even though she hadn’t engaged in active combat for quite sometime.

Why Did The Inquisitor Not Receive Similar Training?

It’s interesting that Anakin didn’t pass on this particular brand of training to the Inquisitors. After becoming Darth Vader, he trained the Grand Inquisitor, but it seems like that training didn’t resemble the brutal ones that Anakin gave Ahsoka. There are some theories as to why he maybe kept this knowledge to himself. One could be that he was subconsciously training and preparing only Ahsoka for Order 66.

Another reason could be because he didn’t think that the Inquisitors would require such training and could rely on their strength and weapons more. The last reason could be because he kept his cards close to himself and didn’t give away the training that could be used against him by the Sith. Or maybe the Grand Inquisitor never passed on the training given by Vader to his underlings.

But what do you think? Why did Anakin not train the Inquisitors like he did Ahsoka?
