James Bond fans have been eagerly waiting to know who will play the iconic role after Daniel Craig’s departure. However, James Bond producer Michael G. Wilson has recently dashed the hopes of Henry Cavill‘s fans to play the next 007.

Despite being a fan-favorite and runner-up to Craig in 2005, Henry Cavill’s age has become a major setback for him to become the next James Bond. According to Wilson, the production team wants the next Bond to be in his prime years and are searching for an actor in his thirties. Wilson explained that Bond is already a veteran who has been through wars and needs an experienced actor.

Younger Actors Aren’t Considered Either

Although the production team initially considered younger actors for the role, they eventually dropped the idea. Bond’s casting director, Debbie McWilliams, revealed that younger actors lacked the necessary gravitas, experience, and mental capacity to handle the role. They had to go back to the drawing board and start over.

Despite ruling out Cavill and younger actors, McWilliams assured that the next James Bond would simply be “who’s best for the part.” Fans will have to wait to see who will fill in the iconic role after Craig’s departure.
