Ahsoka will bring the titular Jedi master back for her own galactic adventure. After brief roles in The Mandalorian Season 2 and The Book of Boba Fett, Rosario Dawson’s character will make her third live-action appearance. Ahsoka’s pursuit of Grand Admiral Thrawn, her search for Ezra Bridger, and possibly her history with the Jedi who would become Darth Vader are all expected to be featured in the upcoming Disney+ series.

Ahsoka is surrounded by a stellar cast from a galaxy far, far away. Aside from Thrawn and Bridger, the series will also feature Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, who will make her live-action debut. Ray Stevenson will also appear as a villainous admiral, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead will complete the cast.

Hayden Christensen was also rumored to be reprising his role as Anakin Skywalker in the upcoming series, but Lucasfilm has yet to confirm this. Dawson has now shared a fascinating story about Christensen’s rumored return to the Disney+ series.

Rosario Addresses The Leak

Rosario Dawson

After news broke that Hayden Christensen would reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker in the upcoming Disney+ series, Ahsoka actress Rosario Dawson took to Instagram in October 2021 to welcome him back. The actress later removed the post, prompting fans to wonder if she was asked to do so by Lucasfilm. Dawson confirmed to Vanity Fair that she was told to take down her post by the studio:

“When I checked my email, Star Wars said, ‘You might want to take that down.’ “Man, I can’t be trusted.” I say.

Although Dawson took down the post, it is still unclear whether Christensen will reprise his role as Anakin in Ahsoka.

While plot details are still being kept under wraps, Ahsoka showrunner Dave Filoni teased that the series will be a “continuous story,” rather than “little singular adventures:”

“Ahsoka is a story that never ends. In my opinion, it is definitely moving toward a goal rather than being isolated adventures. That’s what I’d like the character to be doing, and I believe it’s what the fans want right now. They have a special bond with her. I’ve only recently realised that all those kids who grew up watching Clone Wars are now much older, and they’re as excited as they should be about everything they grew up with.”

Rosario Dawson‘s recent revelation that Lucasfilm asked her to remove a social media post suggests that the Star Wars studio is also going all-in to prevent spoilers from leaking ahead of the show’s premiere. This isn’t unusual in the age of social media.

Whether or not Lucasfilm confirms it, Hayden Christensen’s return to Ahsoka as Anakin Skywalker or Darth Vader is a positive development for the story, as it allows the titular character to be fleshed out even more. Including her former Jedi Master, either in a flashback or as a Force ghost in the present day, opens up a lot of story possibilities.

Meanwhile, Dave Filoni’s remark that Ahsoka is a “continuous story” should be a good sign for Star Wars fans, indicating that the show will be more serialised than other shows like The Mandalorian.

Because Ahsoka is “driving toward a goal,” it’s possible that plot threads like the search for Ezra Bridger and the location of Grand Admiral Thrawn will be resolved this season. However, it’s unclear whether Thrawn will be defeated in the end, as the villain appears set to be the main antagonist in the highly anticipated Disney+ crossover event.

Ahsoka will premiere on Disney+ in 2023.
