The eagerly anticipated Spider-Verse sequel’s title has now been announced for a little over a year. Soon after, in December 2021, Sony Pictures Animation published the first teaser from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Since then, there haven’t been many project updates.

In the movie, Miles Morales will make his big-screen comeback with Gwen Stacy and a new group of Spider-People as they battle an enemy who is more formidable than any foe they have ever faced. As can be seen from the first glimpse, Spider-Man 2099 will be one of the fresh faces entering the multiverse.

We also know that the movie will feature a handful of new Spider-Variants. These include Spider-Punk, Cyborg Spider-Woman, Scarlet Spider, Supaidaman (the Japanese Spider-Man), Spider-Woman voiced by Jessica Drew, and Spider-Man: India. No information has been released regarding the future of the original Spider-Men team. Only Jake Johnson’s Peter B. Parker and Nicolas Cage’s Spider-Noir from the first movie are expected to make a comeback in the sequel.

Additionally, we now know that more Spider-heroes will feature in this movie, and this time, they are all people we are all connected with.

MCU Spidey In The Spider-Verse

 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, will feature Tom Holland’s Spider-Man from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Although it has been reported that the character would appear in the movie. It is unknown at this time whether Holland himself will return to voice the part.

Chris Miller, the project’s writer-producer, has openly mentioned the Spider-Verse films’ possible links to the MCU and other big-screen Spider-Man universes. He did not confirm or deny whether it was possible for these characters to appear in the animated films. This is despite the fact that Miller allegedly pitched having Holland (along with Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire) in the first film.

Peter 2 And Peter 3

There have been conversations about including a cameo for the Spider-Men, starring Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire. They will either appear the 2023 film Across the Spider-Verse or the 2024 film Beyond the Spider-Verse.

As of now, none of these additions have been officially announced by Marvel, Sony Pictures, or Disney and are only rumors.

It appears that Yuri Lowenthal (the voice actor from Insomniac’s Playstation Spider-Man game) may also be joining Josh Keaton and Christopher Daniel Barnes’ interpretations of the character from Spectacular Spider-Man and the 90s Animated Spider-Man series, respectively. This would add to the abundance of Spider-Men in the animated sequel.
