Both Geralt of Rivia and Yennefer of Vengerberg are central characters of the Netflix show, ‘The Witcher’, adapted from the books and comics that constitute the Witcher universe. The Witcher universe has millions of fans worldwide, and to their delight, the new show from Netflix did justice to the original version.

Yennefer and Geralt

As we move towards the characters, Geralt of Rivia, also known as one of the greatest witchers of all time, is a fearless warrior with some handy magical powers and a sharp sword. Also known as the White Wolf, he is the protagonist of the story.

Yennefer of Vengerberg was sold as a slave due to her disability and hunchback to a powerful mage Tissaia. She trains under her, sacrifices her womb to cure her disability, and turns into a breathtaking mage with some great powers. The show also focuses on her story and making her the female lead of the show.

Even though the show begins with the display of the powers and abilities of Geralt of Rivia, the finale was totally owned by Yennefer of Vengerberg, who was using her whole powers, wreaks havoc in the battlefield. This underlines the fact that Yennefer is highly powerful and skilled than most of the other mages seen in The Witcher and also powerful and dangerous than the Witcher himself in some ways.

There were glimpses where both of them fight together to defend the dragon where their skills are challenged while the climax was an epic showdown to the series with Yennefer completely overtaking the performance of the Witcher. Similar to all other mages, Yennefer wreaks havoc from the chaos, and her ability to control it matters the most. She was known to practice the skill for years, and she used its complete potential at the moment her army was cleverly deceived by the enemy forces.

The portrayal of her powers came in as a surprise where the Witcher was hurt and the army almost beaten to the core. The sight turned out to be the visual treat the fans were looking for in the entire show. So yes, Yennefer possesses a lot of powers and is even capable of using the powers of lighting to her advantage. But Witchers are vulnerable, and without the potion, they are prone to attacks and even getting beaten up, which the final scenes of Geralt proved.
