Spider-Man: Far From Home is the biggest movie of 2021 and 2022 till now. Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon reprise their roles as Peter Parker, MJ, and Ned Leeds in the third movie in the MCU Spider-Man franchise.

Joining them is Benedict Cumberbatch’s, Doctor Strange. He helps Peter fix his identity issues. But the first time he uses a spell to help Peter, the sorcerer almost breaks the Multiverse by bringing in other people from various universes.

The people who came through were Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock, Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin, and Jamie Foxx’s Electro. Thankfully, later, the Spideys from the other universes also dropped in to help Holland’s Peter.

Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s appearances in the movie were impactful and necessary. They reprised their roles after starring in their respective Spider-Man trilogy and duology.

Even though both of them played interesting roles for Holland’s Peter, it’s clear that Andrew Garfield’s role was more intriguing. After all, unlike Tobey’s Peter, Andrew’s version didn’t end his duology in a relatively good place.

The last time we saw him, he was lost after seeing his girlfriend, Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy, die in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. This loss changed him. In No Way Home, Andrew’s Spidey says that it made him more reckless and brash in a way.

Viewers learned that Gwen’s loss haunts him every day. Thankfully, there is a payoff to this in the movie. This moment comes when he saves Zendaya’s MJ from falling to her death in the same way and gets emotional redemption in a manner.

The scene usually was satisfying. But according to the star, there was an addition to the scene by Zendaya that made it better.

Recently, Spider-Man: No Way Home and The Amazing Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield gave an interview on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast. There he talked about Zendaya’s big contribution to the scene involving him and MJ.

As per the actor, when Zendaya’s MJ was saved by his Spider-Man, the line, “I’m okay. Are you okay?” was all from the actor. Here’s what he said about Zendaya’s improvisation skills:

“… And then, this is a tribute to Zendaya as a creative person and as an actress, because she saw what I was doing, the effect it was having, and she’s just such a sensitive human being, and MJ is such a sensitive beautiful character, that—whether it was just improvised or her idea to say [“I’m okay. Are you Okay?”], in writing, to check-in on me, to ask if I was okay, that was all her.”

Sony Can Explore Peter And Gwen’s Relationship Further

Spider-Man: No Way Home was a movie that was chock full of great moments. But many fans will agree that Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man catching Zendaya MJ is one of the very best moments of the movie.

Andrew has said that this scene was one of the reasons he returned to the role after The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Analyzing this moment a bit more, it’s clear that Gwen’s death will always be central to Peter’s story and that he might never forgive himself for it or even truly let it go.

Right now, we can only hope for The Amazing Spider-Man 3 movie. It might explore how her death has affected Peter and also how he can recover from it. Or maybe if Sony ever follows through with the Spider-Gwen project and casts Emma Stone in it, then they might bring in Garfield’s Spider-Man in it. After all, it makes sense to do so.

Honestly, incredible character work can be done with such an emotional and fragile situation. As a result, we can get impactful storytelling that will help expand their relationships and characters.

However, this is just speculation right now since nothing has been revealed or announced by Sony just yet. But in the meantime, fans can watch Spider-Man: No Way Home, which is still playing in theaters worldwide.
