We all know the adventures of Ant-Man through the Quantum verse and how he ended up getting stuck in the Quantum realm from saving the avengers from a crisis in Endgame. The importance of Quantum verse proved to be a major factor in key parts during Endgame.
Quantum Verse was briefly and intricately displayed during a few scenes in Ant-Man and The Wasp and was largely left unexplored until its aid in the time travel during Endgame.
During the rescue of Janet Van Dyne, we get to see a brief shot of a city in the quantum realm covered in a bubble. This city is none other than Chronopolis, the stronghold of Kang the Conqueror, where each block of this city extends into different ages of the Earth. It exists as a unique dimension called Limbo free from the timeline.
It didn’t come as a huge surprise that Ant-Man 3 will focus more on the Quantum Realm and delve into its possibilities as mentioned by the producers, and also, Kang is the main antagonist of the film with a much bigger threat involved.
The filming for Quantumania had been wrapped up as mentioned by the director Peyton Reed. It is palpable to assume that this installment would be more focused on the Quantum Realm as a whole, and probe into a few mysteries surrounding the Realm.
In the comics, the Realm had been home to a species called Micronauts and also had been a place for many adventures consisting of the first feature of The Fantastic Four, a few issues of Captain America, and a few timelines including Inhumans, Silver Surfer with Psycho-Man being one of the main antagonists.
Quantum Realm is also home to several planets consisting of various tribes spread across each world. Ant-Man 3 looks like it is going to translate this effect onto the screen and explore the possibilities of future encounters of villains and protagonists in this film while building up screen space for Kang The Conqueror.
It got announced long back that Jonathan Banks is filling in the shoes of Kang the Conqueror, and he had already caught us with his performance during the Loki finale. He also built up tension for the future stories of Marvel, by giving a brief explanation regarding his other variant.
Kang the Conqueror will undoubtedly play the role of the main antagonist in Ant-Man 3, as well as some other titles. Besides Kang, we will be meeting newer characters.
Corey Stoll, the actor for Yellow Jacket in the first installment had been shrunk to a sub-atomic level and has disappeared since, there have been rumors of him returning to play a role in Ant-Man 3. The most feasible way of his return would be that he had been hiding in the quantum realm and had been plotting revenge all along. It makes the most sense for him to take on the role of MODOK, and revenge could be shown as an incentive to fuel his growth of power.
There is also the issue of the people Jane met during her stay in the Quantum Realm. They could also play a crucial role in the movie, there is also a possibility of Jane meeting Kang in the city of Chronopolis.
The Timeline of the Movie can be easily split, we have Jane meeting Kang in the Quantum Realm and learning how dangerous and powerful he is. After escaping, she explains this to Ant-Man and the group to decide on their plan of action.
Yellow Jacket, now MODOK, has been plotting revenge and is waiting for any chance to escape. He then teams up with Kang and formulates a plan to unleash Kang on Earth.
The Ant-Man group oblivious of the dangers, ventures into the Quantum Realm meeting both of their foes and, some old contacts of Jane during her time. It makes more sense now for MODOK to turn back on Kang by playing a double game and trapping the whole group with Kang while he finds his chance to free himself of this forsaken Realm.
All in all, we have time till February 2023 to find out if the theories are true and to be awe-stricken by the marvelous visuals of the quantum realm blended with its explicitly detailed visuals.
