The newest trailer for “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” is here and it has upped the stakes for Ant-Man more than ever before. In the trailer we see Kang make a proposal to Scott. He says that if Scott gets him what he needs, he will give Scott the one thing he wants the most- time. But why is Ant-Man so desperate for time? Let us tell you why.

Why Ant-Man Bargains With Kang For Time

Time is the one thing Scott Lang never had, especially with his daughter. He first went to prison so he missed out on some of her initial years. Then, he lost more time due to the blip and when he returned Cassie was grown up. So he has missed quite a lot of her teenage years as well. So he’s struggling because he feels he missed out on important years of her life. As a result of his absence for 5 years, there might be some distance between the two of them.

Also, in the trailer we saw a shot of Cassie in jail. As such, Scott might feel like he hasn’t been the best father to her and that’s why she’s following in his criminal footsteps. Maybe this is why he wants more time. Not only because he wants to spend more time with little Cassie and watch her grow up, but also to ensure that she wander on the wrong path.

Will Scott Get That Time With Cassie?

In the film trailer Janet says that Kang can’t be trusted because he can control existence and shatter timelines easily. So he has no need to hold his end of the bargain. But Scott will still probably accept Kang’s proposal because Cassie is his main focus. But if the trailer is any indication then Janet’s words will come true and Scott will have to fight to ensure that his family gets out safely from the Quantum Realm.

So in the search for more time, Scott might lose whatever time he could have spent with Cassie since he might die fighting the cosmic villain. His words on how he doesn’t need to win, just has to ensure that Kang loses as well is really ominous and might be foreshadowing his death.

However, throughout the years, everyone has always underestimated Scott and he has always been able to turn it around to win. I remains to be seen if he can do it this time around as well. After all, if he can find a crevice in Kang’s suit and enter his body, he might be able to shrink further and then expand. However, since Kang controls all time he could prevent that from happening.
