Jason Momoa, who has played Aquaman in the DCEU since Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016, the same film in which Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, and Ray Fisher joined the cast Momoa is defined as a “hugely important player” in these new DC plans, with one scenario being the actor’s final appearance as Arthur Curry in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

According to sources, Man of Steel 2 and Wonder Woman 3 are on hold, while Gunn wants Momoa to lead another franchise within the same cinematic universe. Unlike Superman and Diana Prince, Lobo is a foul-mouthed, cigar-smoking anti-hero in the DC comics, which indicates the type of figures the Guardians of the Galaxy filmmaker and his associate studio head Peter Safran are more keen on emphasising in the future.

He’ll move on to portray the alien bounty hunter Lobo, a role in which he’s expressed interest. Again, this is not a confirmed plan, but rather something that is being examined. It was also stated that whatever James Gunn and Peter Safran are up to is for the benefit of the DC universe.

Momoa’s next appearance as Aquaman will be in The Flash in June 2023, followed by Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom in theatres on December 25, 2023. The sequel will purportedly see the iconic superhero establish an unexpected alliance to preserve Atlantis… and the planet, with Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Temuera Morrison, Dolph Lundgren, Willem Dafoe, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Nicole Kidman. In addition, Ben Affleck is rumored to reprise his role as Batman in the movie.
