The occurrences of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever could set up the groundwork for a new Avengers team in Avengers 5. The Infinity Saga revolved around the Avengers, with each instalment either constructing an Avengers team-up or dealing with the fallout of their battles. In spite of all the new characters that have been introduced in Phase 4, the MCU has yet to establish a solid framework for another franchise-wide team-up. Before Phase 5, however, things could change.

Here Come The MCU’s Next Avengers

Avengers Endgame

In spite of its central role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Wakanda hasn’t had the impact one might have expected after its public reveal. At the end of Black Panther, the throne of Wakanda opened its doors and took a stand against Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, but other than assisting Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson in their fight against the Flag-Smashers in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Wakanda has yet to show how much it can change the world. Thanks to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Wakanda can become the home of the next generation of the Avengers as well as introduce the new Black Panther.

In Captain America: Civil War, superheroes were depicted as people who need to be monitored. In a world where new heroes and villains are constantly springing up, it’s more difficult than ever to keep track of them all. Wakanda, on the other hand, can come in and sponsor the MCU’s next Avengers team, ensuring that they will be able to make decisions and be held accountable by a reputable government at this time. In the end, Wakanda’s openness to the world makes them a trustable authority.

Wakanda’s New Role As The Avengers’ Base Of Operation

No matter what happens to the monarchy in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, a new team of superheroes could be selected and represented by the country, potentially making them available to other governments in the event that they’re needed across borders. Furthermore, Wakanda may be able to provide the crew with the resources, training, and equipment they’ll need to deal with future threats as massive as Thanos’. The downside is that the rest of the world and even Wakandans themselves may begin to doubt Wakanda’s authority as a result. However, Wakanda’s new role as the Avengers’ base of operations has the potential to transform the Earth’s godlike heroes into modern-day Olympus.

To summarize, Wakanda’s reputation as a generous and open kingdom makes it an asset to the next Avengers team. A new generation of superheroes such as Sam Wilson’s Captain America, Shang-Chi, and She-Hulk would be less concerned with navigating the legal and political systems and more dedicated to saving the world. Even though Black Panther: Wakanda Forever may not be released until after Avengers 5, it can begin to set up the groundwork for a more prepared group of heroes.
