Marvel fans can look forward to a star-studded cast in the upcoming Avengers 6: Secret Wars. The first big star confirmed to appear is Jonathan Majors, who will reprise his role as the Marvel villain Kang in the 2026 blockbuster event.
The Kang Dynasty: The Beginning Of The End For The Avengers
The Avengers will first assemble in 2025’s The Kang Dynasty to confront Kang, the main “protagonist” of the movie, who will lead Earth’s Mightiest Heroes into a difficult battle. The upcoming Avengers movie is set to introduce legacy characters and pack a punch with its all-star cast.
Majors’ Role In Avengers 5 and 6
Jonathan Majors has already appeared as several Kang variants in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Loki, and will continue to terrorize Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in the next two Avengers movies. He will reportedly receive a massive salary for his role in both movies, which could help him to become one of the MCU’s most iconic villains.
Michael Waldron, the writer behind Doctor Strange 2, is currently writing the script for Secret Wars. However, details about the story, casting, and characters remain scarce, as filming may not begin until spring 2025.
Controversy Surrounding Majors’ Role As Kang
Jonathan Majors is currently embroiled in controversy following allegations of abuse, an ongoing court case, and viral controversy. Marvel Studios has been discussing options with Majors’ team, but there have been no reports of him being recast.
Only time will tell if Jonathan Majors will continue as Kang in the MCU or if the role will be recast or abandoned altogether. The MCU may also bring in other heavy hitters, including Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man, for Avengers 6.
