The Bad Batch season 1 involved Hunter, Tech, Wrecker, Crosshair, and Echo disobeying their Order 66 instructions and saving Kanan Jarrus. When Grand Moff Tarkin enhances Crosshair’s chip to guarantee his loyalty to the Galactic Empire, things take a darker turn. The other clones adopt a young clone called Omega, created by the scientists on Kamino.

Later on, Crosshair hunts down his allies as the titular batch takes on rogue missions. At the end, Crosshair saves Omega in the finale of season 1. But he ultimately leaves the gang. Season 2, that will debut on January 4, will have viewers join the gang after a few months since the season 1 ending. The batch will still navigate through the Empire and meet old and new people as they adventure in places unseen and seen.

The recently released second trailer gave us a new look at what to expect from the new season. So let us take a look:

1) Omega Is A Competent The Bad Batch Member Now

Omega

In the trailer we see Omega wielding a bow-like weapon to take on the crabs. But it’s great to see that she doesn’t kill any of the animals. Her actions cause them to defend themselves and then she uses that time to get herself to safety. It’s keeping with what we have seen in Star Wars all along. That one shouldn’t cause unnecessary deaths or harm nature.

2) Echo Getting More To Do

Echo
Echo

One of the biggest fan complaints of season 1 was Echo getting sidelined. He is the one who wanted the gang to be more than mere mercenaries and this trailer highlights just that. And we feel that Echo will get his time to shine here because we see star destroyers looming over planets, troops getting ready to fight and conquer, and more.

So he will be validated in his decision to do more. Also, he understands that one cannot just care about one’s family. Everyone has to care for the larger galaxy that’s at risk with the Empire in power. This darkness of the Empire is illustrated by the the blue and bright colors of the beach shifting into the red and black of the Empire.

3) Clones And TK Troopers

We will possibly see a clash between the clones and the TK Troopers as seen in the trailer. After all, how do the clones feel about getting phased out? These troopers are the elite shock group of the Empire. And they are a part of Stormtrooper Corps. This was a paramilitary branch that was independent and operated under the Imperial Army.

4) The Bad Batch Clones Liberating Other Clones

The season could deal with our batch liberating others from the spell of the chip that makes them execute Order 66. In season 1 we saw Howzer throw down his weapons and inspire others to do the same. In this trailer we see Cody and Crosshair have a talk about this same thing.

Crosshair terms anyone who questions the orders as traitors, but Cody isn’t that sure about it. This means that the seeds of doubt have been sown.

5) Gungi Takes His Lightsaber Back

We saw Gungi in the first trailer and even in this trailer we see him taking his lightsaber from the Axis (a group of droids). And it’s interesting that we only see Omega and Echo with him. This scene comes right after Echo says that there are others in the galaxy who need their help. So maybe the two of them go off to a mission alone.

6) The Separatist Hardware In The Bad Batch Trailer

In the trailer we see a Trandoshan lighting up a forest in what looks like Kashyyyk, and after that we see a Separatist tank rolling around. Now, after the Revenge of the Sith the Separatist droids stopped functioning because their leader was killed.

But all those artillery, droids, and weapons were just lying around and it’s possible that slaver and pirate groups like the Trandoshan could have reprogrammed them to do their bidding. As such, this will certainly feed into the chaos going on. And that will surely lead to the Empire intervening.

7) Going Back To Serenno

Serenno
Serenno

The trailer featuring Serenno got a lot of fans excited because not only is it a returning location from The Clone Wars, but we might get to see what happened to the planet after Dooku died. Since Serenno played a huge role in the Separatists movement so we think that things didn’t go so well for them after the Empire came into power.
