Even though Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is one of the most anticipated projects on the MCU calendar, it has been criticized a lot. As a result of Letitia Wright’s anti-COVID vaccine stance, the movie will not be released in 2020. All of this is on top of the injuries that the cast and production team went through is something that would be a massive once the movie is out in theatres.

And all of this has made Marvel Studios’ most exciting project to date seem less exciting than it should have been because of it. To build on the success of the first movie, Black Panther 2 is set to show another side of the Marvel universe on the big screen. It was at the D23 event that the movie was renamed as Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Black Panther 2 Tributes Chadwick

While the plot for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is still a closely guarded secret, the Fans were given hints and some reveals during the D23 event. The movie will open to an array of new introductions in the MCU. Martin Freeman had said in an interview that the screenplay had been changing and had weird changes to a plot every now and then. Lupita Nyong’o said that the story was changed to honor T’Challa actor Chadwick Boseman, who died in 2020 after years of quietly dealing with Cancer.

On the other hand, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has said that the studio is working hard every day in the production of the movie to instill, the pride that the Black Panther mantle was carried by Chadwick. A lot of information about how the movie will go unrevealed until the movie opens to its the first promo that might start in August. But material from the set, gives the audience a sense of what to expect from the movie.

A new picture of the set of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever suggests that the movie may have underwater scenes. A year after making Black Panther, which was a huge hit, director Ryan Coogler returns to the MCU. Filming is already taking place in Atlanta, Georgia, and images of the sets being built have recently surfaced on the internet.

The photo was clicked and posted by Twitter account @AtlantaFilming.

The photo indicates a sort of meeting or a discussion happening within the ocean. Though it isn’t clear to identity as to who is who in the photo, a major chuck of the movie is said to have been shot underwater.

But why underwater? Could this be indicating… Namor?

This confirms that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will bring Namor the Submariner and Atlantis to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is good news for fans. This was hinted at in Avengers: Endgame when Okoye said that Wakanda was having earthquakes under the sea. When asked how they dealt with it, she said that they mostly didn’t pay attention to them.

People who have been following casting rumors say that Tenoch Huerta has been cast as Namor in the movie. An unofficial synopsis says that Wakanda and Atlantis are at odds. All of this isn’t true right now, so take it with a grain of salt. This is not the case, however. The set shot shows that this is the path the sequels’ story will follow.

What Could This Mean For Black Panther 2

Of course, this picture under the sea might not have anything to do with Namor and Atlantis. Wakanda is a big country, and this might be a way to look at other parts of the country that were not shown in the first movie. Marvel Studios, on the other hand, is well-known for having a story that is linked together.

As more and more evidence shows that they want to put this part of the Marvel comics into the MCU, it makes sense that they would do so through Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Namor and the Land of Atlantis have been almost certain to show up in some way in the MCU, but this very well proves it.

The picture itself doesn’t say very much, but it will be interesting to see how Marvel Studios adds aquatic life to their already-expanding universe of super-powered heroes and things.

Namor and Atlantis have been mentioned before in MCU movies, even though it is supposedly to be introduced in Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness. However, what may be the studio’s reason for going all the way into the deep end?

There is one thing that will keep people watching the MCU when Namor makes his first appearance in the movie. Because the character is linked to Marvel’s mutant universe on the comics page, he could be a way for Marvel Studios to bring in a new generation of mutant stories.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is expected to release in November 2022.
