While the sequel Wakanda Forever has yet to be released, discussions about the third instalment have started. The Ryan Coogler-directed film will premiere on November 11. It is the year’s final significant MCU release.

When asked whether Marvel anticipates releasing another Wakanda-based film in the next three or four years, the answer was, “To be completely honest, I’m not doing this to avoid answering your question. Before making a decision, we want to see how the film is received by the audience. I believe Ryan Coogler is also quite interested in this.

Regarding the prospect of a third movie, he added, “There are definitely ideas we’ve tossed around of what a third film could be if we get to shoot it. But we’re a little bit cautious in that manner till the movie comes out. Since you can never predict the future, we don’t want to count our chickens.

On being asked about a 3rd movie, Ryan Coogler said, “To be honest, I haven’t given it much thought. I’m not the world’s best multitasker when it comes to writing and directing. I guess I will have to act independently and do what is in front of me. I’m better prepared to perform a variety of tasks when it comes to producing. I also have a terrific production business and amazing collaborators that can help me plan things out. However, I have to finish what is in front of me before I can think about anything that will happen after that when it comes to writing, and in this case, co-writing and directing.

Although Marvel Studios’ comments on Black Panther 3 are encouraging, it appears that the studio will wait before engaging in further discussion about a threequel.

If there is a Black Panther 3, its potential release date will be a hot topic of conversation. Wakanda’s threequel may not fit into the MCU’s Phases 5 and 6, which are now overflowing with content.

Black Panther 3 might, however, be a better fit for Phase 7 and beyond, especially because the MCU’s upcoming cinematic story needs a recognizable anchor to move on, none other than Namor. As such, Phase 7 will be entirely a mutant saga.

Whatever the case, Wakanda and Black Panther are here to stay.
