Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Rumor Teases The Debut Of Doctor Doom

After its outstanding run in the year 2021, Marvel Studios is working towards creating an equally fruitful year of content with 2022. The year will end for Marvel with its theatrical release in November as Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever makes its way to the big screen. After the devastating demise of star Chadwick Boseman, the sequel has had a difficult time getting around with the production for years now. But now both Marvel and Coogler seem to have gotten the hang of things. Because the entire team is preparing for Black Panther 2’s long-awaited release this year.

With Boseman’s T’Challa never returning to the MCU, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will delve deeper into Wakanda in its entirety. The mythical African nation has now lifted its borders, allowing the rest of the world in. The film brings about the much anticipated first features of Dominique Thorne’s Ironheart and Tenoch Huerta’s Namor the Submariner. While the two characters’ presence in the sequel has a massive dominance, , there are certain rumors that hint towards one of Marvel Comics’ biggest names appearing as well.

Rewind to a couple years back, and there were rumors that the Black Panther sequel would introduce the MCU’s Victor Von Doom. Doom is on a quest to conquer various parts of Africa, before he finally arrives in Wakanda. While there is a small possibility of Doom showing his face in the sequel, a recent rumor reveals that Black Panther fans might need to wait a little more to see a more enhanced on-screen version of the character.

Doctor Doom’s Appearance In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Doctor Doom, Marvel

Recently, Bleeding Cool revealed an interesting detail which teases Doctor Doom’s potential role in this year’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

As per the current rumor, Doom does have a role, but it is “very minor”. This is because the movie has incorporated him to “imply that the war between Wakanda and Atlantis was down to Doom’s interference.” While the report does not make an official confirmation about Doom’s appearance in the sequel, it seems as if the production team is currently working on a costume design for the character.

So Will There Be A Doom, Or Not?

Considering the information available so far, it is certain that the rumor should be taken dubiously. Mainly because Black Panther 2 already has a bunch of important storylines ascertained. But if the rumor does turn out to be true and Doom appears in the movie, then fans will have to get ready to expect more stories surrounding the Fantastic Four. And that is before the First Family makes its formal debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In the original Marvel comics, Doctor Doom has close links to the secluded African nation. Doom has previously tried to acquire the rule over the Wakandans more than once in the last few decades. Not only this, the character’s MCU existence has already been acknowledged before. Precisely a mention of his home, the country of Latveria, in Episode 3 of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Marvel’s Fantastic Four and Doctor Doom

Fantastic Four in the MCU

Marvel has revealed nothing about the release of the MCU’s Fantastic Four movie. However, several rumors suggest that production will start some time in the year 2023. If Black Panther 2 decides to feature Doom, the character would open the path for Fantastic Four. This is because the movie will set up a classic antagonist as an imminent danger. Before his encounters with Reed Richards, Ben Grimm, and the Storm siblings.

According to the rumor, there is still no official confirmation regarding Doom’s appearance in the sequel yet. It also does not state whether the film will simply acknowledge the antagonist’s presence. Much like that of Kingpin before he made his full screen appearance as Wilson Fisk in Hawkeye’s final episode. But if the character does come out in flesh and bone, it will only add on to an interesting storytelling element in 2022’s last MCU outing on the big screen.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to debut in theaters worldwide on November 11, 2022.
