Warning! SPOILERS for The Book of Boba Fett episode 6.

From episode 5 onwards, The Book of Boba Fett became season 2.5 of The Mandalorian. The latest episode focused almost entirely on Mando himself.

Fennec Shand requested Mando help Boba Fett in the fight against the Pykes. But Din first decided to check on Grogu, and he met Ahsoka on the way too. Din and Ahsoka meet in season 2 of The Mandalorian. Back then, he thought that she would help train Grogu.

Even though Ahsoka isn’t technically a Jedi, as she left the Order just before the end of the Clone Wars, she is indeed a powerful Force user. Also, she has finesse with a lightsaber.

So, Jedi or not, Ahsoka would have been a fine teacher. But she didn’t want to be Grogu’s master because she could sense the affection Grogu had for Din Djarin.

Ahsoka knows better than many that such attachments have in the past turned Jedis to the dark side. The same happened with her previous master, Anakin Skywalker.

Is Fine With Luke Skywalker Teaching Grogu

In episode 6 of The Book of Boba Fett, titled “From the Desert Comes a Stranger,” Din went to the forest planet where Luke was training Grogu to meet the little creature.

But Din didn’t reunite with baby Yoda. Instead, he met Ahsoka. When he is talking to her, Mando questions why Ahsoka is with Luke teaching Grogu when she won’t.

She says, “Because it was his choice.” She clearly explains that she won’t be able to control what others decide. This is enough of an explanation, and if Ahsoka really opposed Luke training Grogu, she would have meddled.

Since she hasn’t meddled and instead looks to be supportive of Luke’s decision, so there’s probably another deeper reason for this.

Star Wars fans have loved watching Luke and Ahsoka interact. But their familiarity means that this isn’t the first time they are meeting. We don’t know when and where the two met first, but it’s quite certain that the two would have discussed the elephant in the room- Anakin.

Anakin connects with both of them. Ahsoka knows what happened on the Death Star when the Emperor was defeated, as well as how Anakin came back to the light to help Luke.

She perhaps also knows that when Luke was tempted by darkness, he didn’t fall for it, even when the people he loved were in danger.

So overall, there’s no one else who can help Grogu avoid the mistakes that Anakin made. As such, this is why she perhaps thinks that Luke is an acceptable person to train Grogu.

However, we know that Luke won’t be able to bring about the next generation of Jedi. In the Sequel Trilogy, we saw that Luke’s fear over Ben being seduced by darkness would lead him to act rashly.

So Ben Solo will become Kylo Ren and murder everyone at the academy. Thus, destroying all hope of Luke’s to rebuild the Order. We don’t know if Grogu will escape this fate, but there’s a canon comic book that proves that he might.

Also, we don’t know how Ahsoka will come into this, if at all, that is. For now, Ahsoka sees that no one other than Luke is better suited to helping Grogu control his volatile emotions and immense power.
