The Boruto manga has announced that it will go on hiatus for a short period before returning with a new arc. The release date for the new arc has been confirmed, and it will explore the aftermath of the shocking events that took place in the previous chapter.

Kawaki’s World-Shaking Moves

Boruto And Kawaki

The Boruto anime concluded with Code’s failed assault on Konoha and Kawaki’s fatal blow on Boruto, which altered Momoshiki Ōtsutsuki’s plan. However, the manga has revealed a few chapters after the fact, which dramatically shifted the entire storyline. Kawaki is determined to wipe out all traces of the alien Ōtsutsuki clan, and he has sealed away Naruto and used the cyborg Eida’s abilities to alter the world’s memories.

The Next Arc Begins In August

Boruto

Eida’s powers have brainwashed most of the population into believing that Kawaki is Naruto and Hinata’s son, resulting in Boruto being framed for the murder of Naruto. Eida’s Senjutsu abilities did not work on Sarada, so it’s up to her and Boruto to find a way to clear their names and save the Seventh Hokage. Chapter 80 of the manga will release on April 20, but fans will have to wait for the next one, with Chapter 81 of Boruto’s release date being August 21, 2023. The extra time will allow the series writer, Masashi Kishimoto, and artist, Mikio Ikemoto, to prepare for the anticipated next arc, which may include a time-skip similar to Naruto Shippuden.

Eida’s Overpowered Abilities

Eida’s abilities have broken the Boruto series even further. Her Omnipotence Shinjutsu has altered the memories of people around the world, leaving only a few unaffected. The manga needs to clarify if her abilities work on other characters with ocular jutsu powers like Sasuke and Boruto’s sister Himawari.

Loose Ends To Tie Up

Uncovering The Burden Of Immunity Why Boruto’s Time Skip Won’t Fix Everything

When the anime resumes, Boruto will have a lot of loose ends to tie up before beginning its time skip in season 2. Before Eida subconsciously used her Omnipotence Shinjutsu on every character in the series for Kawaki, Code was seen plotting his next attack with a ten-tailed beast, and Boruto lost an eye protecting Sarada. With so many lingering questions still to be answered, Boruto’s story could go in several directions when it returns this August.

The Franchise’s Most Powerful Character

Shibai Ōtsutsuki

The series recently introduced the franchise’s most powerful character, Shibai Ōtsutsuki, and teased the strength of Code’s now unrestrained abilities. Boruto and Sarada’s evolving relationship will hopefully play a more prominent role in the series going forward because their bond will need to grow as they seemingly face off against the entire world to clear their names when the Boruto manga returns.
