Cad Bane Actor Revealed In The Book Of Boba Fett

Warning: Contains SPOILERS for The Book of Boba Fett episode 6.

The Book of Boba Fett recently introduced major multiple Star Wars characters to push its story forward. Episode 5 brought in Din Djarin, and episode 6 saw Luke Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, Grogu, Cobb Vanth, and Cad Bane.

Cad Bane has a history with Boba Fett in Star Wars. So even though his appearance in episode 6 of The Book of Boba Fett is surprising, it’s not unexpected. Cad Bane learned how to be a bounty hunter from Jango Fett. But soon, he saw Jango’s death.

There was also a canceled arc in The Clone Wars that saw him train Boba before the two of them became rivals. So there’s unfinished business between the two. And this is why Cad Bane has come back in The Book of Boba Fett.

Who Portrays Cad Bane In The Book Of Boba Fett?

The translation from animation to live-action has thankfully kept Cad Bane’s most memorable features the same. The red eyes and blue skin are there even though his face isn’t an exact match.

In part, this is due to the actor portraying the character. In The Book of Boba Fett, Corey Burton voices Cad Bane, while Dorian Kingi is credited as the performance artist.

Burton previously voiced Cad Bane in The Clone Wars and The Bad Batch. Kingi is an experienced stuntman who has worked on high-profile movies like Venom.

Burton playing Cad Bane again in the Boba Fett show is a great decision since it allows the character to continue after The Clone Wars and The Bad Batch. This is similar to how Morrison was brought back to play Boba Fett.

Also, in The Mandalorian, Katee Sackhoff was brought in to portray Bo-Katan Kryze after voicing her in the animation. On the other hand, Ahsoka was recast with Rosario Dawson, who replaced Ashley Eckstein.

Cad Bane’s appearance is largely prosthetics and make-up. So it makes sense to have the voice actor continue portraying the role.

Cad Bane’s appearance should set up new things for the character. He’s working with the Pykes, who are willing to go to war with Boba Fett. And for Cad, this fight seems to be more personal. Thus, suggesting that the fight the two had in The Clone Wars’ cut arc is indeed canon.

So now a rematch is probably possible. However, it’s hard to imagine Cad Bane surviving another Star Wars show with his life intact. To find out what happens next, check out the finale of The Book of Boba Fett, releasing Wednesday 9 February 2022 on Disney+.
