In addition to facing off against political powers, Mackie’s Captain America will encounter a team of villains known as the Serpent Society. This group, consisting of five members, has been hinted at throughout the development of Captain America 4. WWE superstar Seth Rollins has been cast as one of the members of this snake-themed squad.
A Sneak Peek At The Serpent Society
Thanks to a new set video, fans can now catch a glimpse of Captain America: New World Order’s team of villains. The footage showcases two members of the Serpent Society in action, portrayed by Seth Rollins and an unidentified female actress. Their costumes reflect the green and brown aesthetic often associated with the group in Marvel Comics. Interestingly, these outfits seem to deviate from the traditional superhero attire, taking on a more rugged appearance.
The Scale Of The Challenge
Facing a team of villains is no small feat for a single hero, and Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson is set to face this challenge head-on in Captain America 4. Followers of the Serpent Society in the Marvel comics know that the team usually consists of five or six members. As production on New World Order progresses, audiences can anticipate more glimpses of this villainous lineup of snake-themed adversaries.
Beyond The Serpent Society
The threats against Captain America do not end with the Serpent Society alone. Tim Blake Nelson returns to the franchise after 16 years, reprising his role as The Leader, a villain previously seen in The Incredible Hulk. Furthermore, rumors suggest that Harrison Ford’s newly-introduced General Thunderbolt Ross might pose an antagonistic force in the upcoming sequel.
With a multitude of challenges awaiting him, Anthony Mackie’s Captain America will undoubtedly have his hands full in Captain America: New World Order.
