Fans of the Captain America franchise have been eagerly awaiting the release of the upcoming film, “New World Order,” set to hit theaters on May 3, 2024. While details about the film have been scarce, new reports indicate that fans may have another villain to look forward to in addition to the confirmed primary villain, the Leader, who will be played by Tim Blake Nelson.

According to insider Daniel Richtman, the film is currently casting for a female character named Diamondback to be a villain alongside Nelson’s Leader. The casting call, as reported by Richtman, calls for a “female, early to mid 30s” of any ethnicity, to play “opposite Anthony [Mackie]” described as “a villain but also possibly a love interest.” The call also notes that there is the option for more appearances for the character after the 2024 movie.

In addition to this news, rumors from CanWeGetToast on Twitter suggest that Diamondback may be a member of the Serpent Society. This group of comic villains, themed to serpents and snakes, was originally set to appear in “Captain America: Civil War.” Notable members of the Serpent Society include Viper, Princess Python, and Diamondback.

Actress Xosha Roquemore, who was recently reported to be part of the “New World Order” cast in an unknown role, is speculated to be playing Diamondback. Rachel Leighton, a morally gray member of the comics’ Serpent Society, is the comic book version of Diamondback.
