There is still great controversy about whether Charlie Cox has returned to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the exact Matt Murdock from the original Daredevil Netflix series, which lasted three seasons. When the Daredevil TV show concluded in 2018, the status of Cox’s Daredevil was questionable. With the passage of time, it appeared that the character would never be seen again, but that changed when Cox reprised the role in Spider-Man: No Way Home. He would eventually appear in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

With Matt Murdock getting his own Disney+ series, actor Charlie Cox speculated that the character could be from the MCU’s Multiverse.

Daredevil Is From Marvel’s Multiverse ?

Daredevil: Born Again star Charlie Cox was questioned if the Matt Murdock from Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk is the exact same as the Netflix version during an interview.

“I don’t think it’s a separate character,” Cox said. I just think it’s a different time in his life. My interpretation will not alter since they used the same actor. “We’re claiming a new… period, or variant?”
“I’m not sure because I haven’t read the scripts.” But it’s part of the multiverse, right?”
“The only way I’ll change is if the show is drastically different in tone.”

Cox’s statement is consistent with his remark in an October interview that he was unsure whether Netflix’s Daredevil series would be recognized canon in the MCU.

“I honestly don’t know,” he added, adding that he and the Born Again writers haven’t “talked extensively about what this latest incarnation will be like.” ” He stated, “The fact that they’re using me as an actor to portray the part indicates that there will be some similarities and changes.” “What they are and how we combine them will be the new show’s challenge.”

Born Again Will Have Some Differences

While the variant question stands unanswered, we do know that Daredevil: Born Again will vary from the Netflix series in key ways. Cox also recently said in an  interview that the new series will most likely be less bloody than the original, which is likely due to the show being released on Disney+ rather than Netflix. Cox expressed hope that a less brutal result would not make the show less pleasant.
