Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, a new film from Marvel Studios, will revisit the Iron Man Vs Cap battle from Civil War. Doctor Strange’s arc will be continued in Sam Raimi’s upcoming MCU film, following his involvement in Spider-Man: No Way Home. In his new adventure, Wanda Maximoff joins him, but instead of being allies, their relationship will be tenser.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness premiered its first trailer during Super Bowl LVI, following the debut of its first official footage in the post-credits scene of NWH. On top of that, there were a few major surprises and multiverse teases teasing the highly anticipated blockbuster, which is set for release in 2017. Scarlet Witch may not be joining forces with Doctor Strange in the film, despite what the trailer suggests.

Wanda And Strange On Screen Together

6 WandaVision Moments That Will Impact Doctor Strange 2_ Multiverse of Madness

Strange and Wanda

Wanda’s question about Strange’s double standard in interfering with the laws of the universe sparked an argument in the trailer for Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness. Originally, the two heroes appeared to be talking civilly about the multiverse:

“You break the rules and become a hero. I do it and I become the enemy. That doesn’t seem fair.”

Before Civil War, Tony and Steve had already worked together and were connected through Tony’s father Howard Stark’s family. This is the main difference. The multiverse of Madness is where Wanda and Strange are finally able to meet up in person. Apart from Tony Stark’s private funeral, they haven’t had any real on-screen interactions. This is despite both playing significant roles in fighting Thanos in Avengers: Endgame.

The Problem Of “Double Standards”

Scarlet Witch appears to have decided to fully embrace her evil side, especially since she has nothing more to lose. Despite this, it is not confirmed. Using Strange’s multiverse manipulation as a justification, she may be willing to go down this dark path to save her sons, who appear to be trapped elsewhere.

Even though the Iron Man vs Cap battle eventually dissolved, it took Thanos’ snap to nudge them back into action. Even so, they remained tight-lipped about the events of Captain America: Civil War. Doctor Strange in the 2 teases tension. Hopefully, Marvel Studios will finally correct the problem of double standards regarding their significant heroes. The MCU will be able to prevent this from happening again.
