DC Comics has recently revealed an exciting addition to the Wonder Woman universe: the introduction of Wonder Woman’s daughter, who possesses her own civilian name as well as a superpowered identity. Over the years, Diana Prince has seen numerous legacy characters follow in her footsteps, including Donna Troy, Artemis of Bana-Mighdall, Cassie Sandsmark, and other Themysciran allies like Nubia.

Introducing Lizzie, a.k.a. Trinity

DC Comics writer Tom King took to Twitter to announce the name, superhero alter ego, and design of Wonder Woman’s daughter, who goes by the name Lizzie and assumes the superhero identity of Trinity. Lizzie’s costume pays homage to both her mother, Diana, and Cassie Sandsmark’s Wonder Girl. Notably, she sports three lassos: the gold Lasso of Truth used by Wonder Woman, a silver Lasso of Persuasion reminiscent of Donna Troy’s, and a mysterious black lasso that does not currently exist in DC continuity.

Fans can expect to meet Trinity in Wonder Woman #800, set to be released in June. Written by Tom King and illustrated by Daniel Sampere, this special issue will serve as a teaser for the upcoming Wonder Woman series, slated to be part of the Dawn of DC event in September. Notably, Trinity’s stories will be set 20 years in the future, offering a fresh perspective rather than simply introducing Wonder Woman’s offspring in the present.

Inspired By The Super Sons

The Super Sons

Tom King explained that the idea for Lizzie, who will be a central character in the new Wonder Woman series, was inspired by the concept of the Super Sons, namely Damian Wayne’s Robin and Jonathan Kent’s Superboy, as older brother figures. King was intrigued by the notion of these characters becoming babysitters for their little sister, the daughter of Wonder Woman. He drew inspiration from his own children, aiming to create a story that could be enjoyed by readers of all ages.

Trinity’s Importance And More To Come

Trinity

Trinity’s introduction marks a significant addition to the Wonder Woman mythos. While previous incarnations of Wonder Woman have had daughters, Lizzie is currently the only canon, mainline daughter of Wonder Woman. As for Trinity’s father, Tom King has kept that information under wraps, hinting at a potential reveal during the course of the story. However, he emphasized that the primary focus of the Wonder Woman series will remain on Wonder Woman herself.

The Future Of Super Sons And Trinity

Super Sons

The dynamic of an “older brother babysitter” between the Super Sons and Trinity offers exciting possibilities for fans of the classic Super Sons comics. This new generation of heroes, including Trinity, will experience a 20-year time jump, bridging the age gap between Damian and Jon. This shift will allow them to assume more equal roles and further explore their relationships. While Damian and Jon have taken on legacy mantles as Robin and Superboy, respectively, Trinity stands apart with her own unique identity.

Unveiling Trinity’s Powers

Fans are eager to discover the extent of Lizzie’s powers. Will she inherit all of her mother’s abilities, or will her lineage bring forth a mix of powers? Depending on her father’s identity, Trinity may possess a combination of powers or share similarities with Jon, who is half-human and half-Kryptonian. The exploration of Trinity’s powers will undoubtedly add depth to her character and provide exciting storylines for readers.

The anticipation for Trinity’s debut is building among fans. Wonder Woman #800, scheduled for release on June 20, will serve as the first opportunity to delve into Trinity’s story and witness her in action.
