The Fantastic Four and many more characters made their MCU debuts in the event that was Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The film, which included Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda (aka Scarlet Witch), was the second trip into the multiverse shenanigans after Spider-Man: No Way Home. Daniel Craig was allegedly an Illuminati member as well.

Ex-James Bond Daniel Craig was said to be entering the MCU with Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness. However, the actor did not appear in the film, and  speculations quickly arose. the Knives Out actor now talks about it and denies everything.

It’s All A Rumor

Daniel Craig was said to have featured in the Doctor Strange sequel as Balder the Brave, Thor’s brother, and concept art of the figure even showed Craig’s appearance. However, in an interview , Craig rejected the reports as simply that. “It’s just a rumor,” Craig remarked, laughing. “I’m not sure where these things come from… There was a lot of lockdown craziness. There was a time when you had to conclude every statement with COVID.”

Craig is most likely pulling an Andrew Garfield on all of us. The fact that Balder’s concept art shows Craig’s face is evidence enough that he was at least originally considered for the part. When the studio requests it, those artists will make sketches and keyframes in the appearance of specific actors.

A previous tweet from Justin Kroll detailed how Craig backed out of Multiverse of Madness during production due to an increase in COVID.

Craig, on the other hand, clearly has absolutely nothing against the MCU. In fact, the actor is eager to collaborate with Marvel Studios.

So it’s only a timing issue until Craig joins the MCU in some manner.

There were other cameo speculations that did not come true, including Deadpool, Spider-Man, and Wolverine; also, one of the most minor things was Balder the Brave, Odin’s son and Thor’s brother. While the Asgardian warrior did not appear in the Multiverse of Madness, it has now been identified that Craig would have played him.

Balder the Brave would have probably stood as Thor’s equivalent on Earth-838’s Illuminati board, but in the end, John Krasinski’s Reed Richards was the better choice.
A surprise cameo by Daniel Craig would have garnered an enthusiastic reaction, but only because he was coming as a known face, as only diehard comic book fans know Balder.
In any case, fans can only hope that Marvel Studios can sign Daniel Craig for the MCU and integrate him into the events of Avengers: Secret Wars.
