Fans have been clamoring for the fourth season of Daredevil on Netflix since the conclusion of season 3. When Marvel regained control of Daredevil’s copyrights, the protests grew even more vociferous. David Hayter has confirmed to us that Marvel is working on a Daredevil reboot.
Edward Lauder was in attendance at MCM London Comic Con for Small Screen a few weeks ago. There were a few round table discussions in which he participated. At the David Hayter roundtable, the voice actor and screenwriter was asked what Marvel character he would like to play. This is where he casually spilled the beans about the upcoming Daredevil reboot.
Solid Snake’s voice actor, David Hayter, is most recognized for the Metal Gear Solid video game series. What sets him apart from other Hollywood insiders is the “go-to” guy for companies making comic book movies. X-Men (2000), X2: X-Men United (2003), Watchmen (2009), and most recently Warrior Nun are some of his notable works. He was also the voice of King Shark on the Supergirl television show!
When asked if he’d return to Marvel, director David Hayter said he’d choose a character to head at Marvel Studios if requested.
You know, they’re doing a reboot of Daredevil and Daredevil was always a very important character to me, and I loved the, I loved the first way they did it. But there’s certain things that I, you know that I want to adapt from the Frank Miller run on Daredevil that really meant a lot to me. Um, I yeah, I I mean, that’s that’s really the one.
Oddly, no one else in the room seems to have spotted the Daredevil reboot blunder. While this was going on, Edward struggled to get himself up off the floor with his jaw still on the floor.
Is there anything in particular that you think we should look out for? Daredevil will be under the direction of David Hayter in the future, according to Marvel. At the very least, put him in the room with the authors where he belongs. This actor has an evident love for the role and in-depth familiarity with the source material. Daredevil’s time under Frank Miller’s pen was outstanding.
Recently, in a video titled, “New Punisher Series Details! Jon Bernthal, Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter & Marvel In Deep Negotiations,” one of our sources broke down details about the new Punisher series that we had recently received. He’s on the run, it has a western vibe, and you should check out the video.
There was a lot of discussion about Charlie Cox’s negotiations with Marvel Studios to reprise his role as Daredevil, as well. For quite some time, fans had hoped that Charlie Cox would reprise his role as Daredevil in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. #SaveDaredevil
To fight with the other Marvel characters we’ve come to know and love over the last decade would be incredible. Not to mention the newest additions, such as Moon Knight and the gang of Young Avengers that have already appeared on other shows.
Remember the anticipation for Daredevil’s possible appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home? There’s no doubt about it; we’ve all been there. After all the speculation, it’s good to finally get confirmation from someone who knows what’s going on with Daredevil. We can only hope that Charlie Cox’s contract negotiations go well and that he appears in this Daredevil revival. To say “No,” Marvel would have to be insane.
David Hayter denied on Twitter that he had confirmed the reboot. According to him, he misunderstood what he had read in the trades about a Daredevil reboot. With Marvel properties, you can expect this to be the norm now. While everything is still up in the air, it is only a matter of time that the cat will be out of its bag.
