Disney+ is bringing the highly anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi series soon to fans. Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen are both expected to reprise their roles as Obi-Wan and Anakin in the series. Along with them, Indira Varma has been recently cast in a currently undisclosed role as well.
If that wasn’t enough to make you excited then know that there have been rumours of Liam Neeson resuming his role as Qui-Gon Jinn again. Has that got you pumping your fist up high? Then you will probably love to hear that there are rumours that Darth Maul might return in the series as well.
Right now the Obi-Wan Disney+ show looks like it will be bringing back all that worked in the prequel trilogy of movies. But it will not be complete without Darth Maul returning as the Sith Badass. After all, no matter your views on the prequel movies, we can all agree that Maul was underused completely in the very first prequel movie.
If it wasn’t for the epic fight sequence at the end as well as the fans who simply refused to forget him, he surely wouldn’t have been as popular as he is. Now it looks like thanks to that popularity he could be coming back.
Ray Park, the actor who essayed Darth Maul right in the very first prequel movie, recently made a post on Instagram that looked like a very intriguing tease. On his Insta page, he posted a pic of him in the prosthetic and added the caption- “Meet me on Dathomir! SITH LIFE!” He even tagged the location as Tatooine, where we will be finding Obi-Wan in this series.

Now, this doesn’t mean a confirmation since Park could just be posting an old photo and playing with fans. He could even be teasing another project entirely. But it certainly seems a little suspicious to post such a picture during this time. However till an official confirmation comes by, we should treat this as a playful post or throwback pic.
But if Maul did return then it would indeed make sense. After all, Kenobi and him could engage in an epic fight after the Sith straight-up murdered Kenobi’s master. If not that then Vader and Kenobi could team up to take Maul down. However, it’s better to not run off with theories just now and just wait for any official announcements.
