Mandalorian Season 2 ended with an amazing finale. Luke Skywalker coming to save the gang from the Dark Troopers and taking Grogu with him for training was loved and considered epic by fans. So by the time season 2 ended, fans were hyped and processing a lot.

But that wasn’t the end. In an unexpected post-credit scene Mandalorian executive producer Dave Filoni and showrunners, Jon Favreau announced that there was going to be a new series titled The Book of Boba Fett. It would star Temuera Morrison (Boba Fett) and Ming-Na Wen (Fennec Shand).

What Do We Know About The Book Of Boba Fett?

The scene took place a bit after Shand and Fett parted ways with Din Djarin and his gang. This included Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff), Cara Dune (Gina Carano), and Koska Reeves (Sasha Banks). They all went back to Jabba the Hutt’s palace on Tatooine.

Now, Hutt was killed in Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983) by Princess Leia. But, in the post-credits scene of The Mandalorian, we see that Twi’lek Bib Fortuna (Michael Carter) was Hutt’s, former right-hand man.

Shand quickly dispatched Fortuna’s henchmen and freed a slave who was shackled to the floor. But she left Fortuna for Fett himself. Once the Twi’lek got unceremoniously killed, Fett sat on the throne and signaled that he was going to take over Tatooine. And who knows which other place in the Star Wars galaxy, all for himself.

To date, we don’t know much about the plot of the Book of Boba Fett. Even the showrunner Robert Rodriguez as well as show directors like Filoni and Favreau have stayed tight-lipped regarding the forthcoming Mandalorian spinoff.

However, there’s hope that more about the show that Favreau has said to be “The Mandalorian Season 2.5” will be revealed during the upcoming Disney+ Day. What we do know about the plot is that the series will go back in time to the Original Star Wars Trilogy. Maybe then we will finally get to know how Fett was able to survive the Sarlacc pit.

But nothing much apart from this is known about the plot. Regarding characters, Mando fans think that we will be seeing some notable cameos in the show. The two characters that everyone is predicting are Marshal Cobb Vanth (Timothy Olyphant) as well as Han Solo (a CGI Harrison Ford or maybe Alden Ehrenreich).

However, apart from them, there’s one character who fans think might show up, and that’s Darth Vader. How? Let us find out.

Will Darth Vader Show Up In The Book Of Boba Fett?

Boba Fett has been connected to Darth Vader since Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back (1980). Also, it just seems very unlikely that Rodriguez would return with his team to the Original Trilogy without planning on including Vader in some way.

The interesting thing about The Book of Boba Fett as well as another upcoming Star Wars Disney+ show titled Obi-Wan Kenobi is that both very recently finished filming at The Volume soundstage. This is intriguing news because Hayden Christensen will be reprising his role as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in the Obi-Wan Kenobi show.

So it’s possible that he might have filmed scenes for both the shows when he was on the Kenobi set. But this isn’t confirmed by Lucasfilm. However, it’s quite unlikely that the company will confirm anything. After all, Ahsoka Tano’s appearance in The Mandalorian was kept a secret till the episode aired.

However, it does seem like a foregone conclusion to have at least one flashback scene of Darth Vader in The Book of Boba Fett. After all, the relationship between the Sith Lord and the Bounty hunter warrants at least this.

This is just speculation for now, but there is a possibility that the Disney+ Star Wars show premiering in December 2021 could possibly tie Grogu and Darth Vader together. After all, Ahsoka Tano confirmed that Baby Yoda was indeed on Coruscant at the Jedi Temple when Order 66 was executed.

What will ultimately end up happening? That we will know when The Book of Boba Fett premieres this December on Disney+.
