DC has undergone a lot of changes in a couple of months. First Henry Cavill returned as the Man of Steel in Black Adam and then James Gunn and Peter Safran were appointed as the CO-CEO’s of DC Studios. But it looks like the changes aren’t stopping anytime soon. A bombshell report has claimed that Jason Momoa’s won’t be Aquaman for much longer. Instead, he’s supposedly going to be DC’s main man, Lobo.

Jason Momoa To Be Lobo And Not Aquaman?

As per a bombastic report published by The Hollywood Reporter, Momoa’s next outing as Aquaman in the Lost Kingdom could be his last. But not in DC as a whole, as there are reportedly plans for him to play Lobo. The outlet says:

“The actor would wrap up his days as underwater hero Arthur Curry with Lost City, due out Dec. 25, 2023, which would be the final movie released that was made by the previous regime. But it would not spell the end of the actor’s involvement with DC, with sources saying the actor would lead another movie or franchise. The character of Lobo, a foul-mouthed cigar-chomping intergalactic bounty hunter, has been mentioned in connection with Momoa.”

The article further says that Lobo is exactly the kind of character James Gunn and Peter Safran may be focusing on. As per THR:

“The character is an outsider, an anti-hero, and is keeping in line with Gunn’s specialty of taking the off-beat and quirky and flipping it into crowd-pleasing fare.”

The Hollywood Reporter also said that Wonder Woman 3 isn’t moving forward and there are also question marks on Henry Cavill’s return as Superman. The article further reports that Black Adam 2 isn’t moving forward as well. The rumor is that it’s because it reportedly failed to turn up a large enough profit.

And the final big mention is about The Flash movie that has apparently been “unlocked” to perhaps begin shooting again. After all, the rumor all along was that the new regime is using The Flash to streamline and reboot the new DC universe. So that could very well be happening right now. THR lastly states:

“Part of the plan could entail a truly fresh start and having no baggage from any previous regimes as they set about resetting how DC movies and shows are made.”

It remains to be seen whether DC gets a full reboot or not.

Stay tuned for more updates.
