The Man of Steel has been largely absent from the big screen in recent years, but DC Studios has plans to bring him back in a big way with half a dozen new movies and TV shows featuring different versions of Superman.

Superman & Lois Season 4

The Arrowverse’s Superman & Lois, starring Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch, will continue for at least another season or two, according to DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn. The show takes place away from Earth-Prime and is now tackling Intergang and a bout with breast cancer for Lois. Although Season 4 isn’t officially confirmed, all signs point to Superman returning for another round of battles soon.

Justice League: Warworld (2023)
Justice League: Warworld, the tenth film in the animated Tomorrowverse world, features Darren Criss as the voice of Clark Kent alongside Jensen Ackles’ Batman and Stana Katic’s Wonder Woman. The heroes are transported to Warworld, where they must unite to form an unbeatable resistance able to lead an entire planet to freedom.

My Adventures With Superman (2023)
The animated series My Adventures with Superman, set to debut on Adult Swim later this summer, features Jack Quaid as the voice of Clark Kent in an anime-inspired take on the Man of Steel. The show will highlight Superman’s interactions with Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen as he protects Metropolis.

Superman: Legacy (2025)
Superman: Legacy is the first movie of the DCU’s Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters slate, offering a brand-new take on the Man of Steel under James Gunn’s reign at DC Studios. The movie will follow Superman’s path to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his upbringing on Earth, embodying truth, justice, and the American way in his big screen comeback. Casting for the movie is still in the earliest stages.

Untitled Ta-Nehisi Coates Movie (TBD)
Comic writer Ta-Nehisi Coates is working on a movie centered on a Black Superman, set a century in the past to give some history to Krypton. The film will feature a Black leading actor as Superman for the first time and is being developed as an Elseworlds movie.

Michael B. Jordan’s Val-Zod Series (TBD)
Michael B. Jordan is producing a Superman movie centered on Val-Zod, a Superman other than Kal-El. While Jordan has been rumored to play the role of Val-Zod himself, he and his team have shut down those rumors. The movie will be a limited series for HBO Max, but there is no timetable for development or release.
