Rumors abound about Deadpool 3 being a sort of prequel movie to Logan. But how? And will it work? Let us decode that
By now we have all seen the pics of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman bulking up in the gym for “Deadpool 3.” And we also know that the movie will involve multiversal time travel in some way or the other.
What’s more is that Hugh Jackman has assured fans that the film won’t mess with the events of the beloved “Logan” movie. But what if that’s because it’s actually a prequel to that film? That’s the rumor going around right now. So let us decode it in full.

Christopher Marc, the news writer for The Playlist News, tweeted that “Deadpool 3” could setup the events of Logan by ensuring that at the end of the film Charles Xavier accidentally kills his X-Men due to his dementia making him unfit to control his powers. Here’s his tweet:
DEADPOOL 3 has been talked-up as a prequel to the events of LOGAN…which likely means they're going to show Xavier killing everyone in the X-Mansion by the end of it. I don't know how I feel about that and why anyone would want to see that when the off-camera nod was good enough

Patrick Stewart as Professor X
Patrick Stewart in an interview by Comicbook.com admitted that he was told to be on standby by Marvel Studios. However, he doesn’t know anything more than that. So while we don’t know the projects he will be appearing it, it easy to take calculated guesses. One big project he can appear in is “Avengers: Secret Wars.”
It’s touted to be a multiverse spanning movie where characters from Fox’s Marvel movies will appear. Till now, it has been rumored that Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, and Sophie Turner’s Jean Grey will appear in the film. Since Charles Xavier is a powerful mutant so he can easily appear in the film and help the Avengers in their fight against Kang.
The other movie where he can appear is in “Deadpool 3.” In the beginning of “Logan,” Xavier and Wolverine have been living together with the latter taking care of the former. It’s said in the film that he accidentally killed off all the other mutants. So “Deadpool 3” could show us that event. However, the question is, it is even worth it?
For one, many fans feel that Deadpool isn’t the franchise that will be able to depict such an incident with the care and emotion it deserves. Also, it’s a scene that doesn’t need to be depicted in live-action. It’s something that’s more horrifying in the viewer’s imagination. Others feel that the idea of Fox’s X-Men dying to mark an end to that era before Marvel begins its X-Men franchise is a neat one.
