The Star Wars franchise and lore spans decades and genres. From the action-adventure western format of The Mandalorian to the Samurai-themed action genre of the upcoming Ahsoka show, Star Wars has expanded beyond anyone’s imagination.

Live-action and animation have always existed side-by-side here. So overlap of scenes between the two mediums is expected. But you will be shocked to know that it isn’t that common. In fact, till now, only five such scenes have found their way into both live-action and animated content in Star Wars. Let us check them out:

1) Padme’s Funeral

Padme’s death is one of the major events in Star Wars lore, and no matter how many times we watch Revenge of the Sith, it never quite settles in. A tragic event that ends with her funeral, Padme’s demise was a turning point in the story.

In the recently released animated show Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi, Padme’s death has been recreated frame by frame in episode 6 titled, ‘Resolve’. In the episode, we again see Padme in an open casket, wearing a blue dress, and clutching a japor gifted by Anakin.

Some fans have pointed out that Padme’s fake pregnant belly, created to fool Anakin into believing his children remained unborn, is better visible in the animated show. However, we would encourage viewers to draw their conclusions on that.

2) Anakin And Obi-Wan Battle Droids

In the opening montage of The Bad Batch, we can see two short moments from The Revenge of the Sith. One includes Obi-Wan displaying his lightsaber skills to put away a guard, and the next has Anakin slashing through two Battle Droids to save Palpatine.

Fans will know that the scene takes place on the Invisible Hand, a Separatist dreadnaught after Obi-Wan, Anakin, R2-D2, and Chancellor Palpatine, are imprisoned by General Grievous and his battle droids.

3) Grievous Flees In An Escape Pod

The above scene isn’t the only recreation from the Star Wars movies in The Bad Batch. In the opening montage of the animated show, Grievous can be seen fleeing from the Jedi in an escape pod.

He high-tails it out of Coruscant and launches all the escape pods of the Invisible Hand with his, seemingly pushing the Jedis aboard towards their death. But our heroes survive.

We also see him landing on Utapau’s outer rim in The Bad Batch. However, there’s one thing that’s different. Fans will notice that Grievous looks quite different in the show than in the movie.

4) Palpatine Declares A New Order

When Order 66 is given, the Bad Batch heads to Kamino. There they witness the assembly going on about the Republic’s condition. All watch the live holographic speech given by Palpatine. There he talks about the Jedi’s trying to take his life.

He also declares the Republic to be a part of the Galactic Empire from then onwards. Now, the Bad Batch is immune to the brainwashing, but they see something that shakes them. The group watches the Clone Troopers happy about their fascist regime after fighting endlessly for democracy.

This whole scene gets visually recreated in The Bad Batch.

5) Obi-Wan vs Anakin On Mustafar

Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin’s duel on Mustafar in Revenge of the Sith is legendary. Most fans agree it’s iconic and hasn’t been matched yet in any Star Wars media.

Lightsabers clash on the planet Mustafar as Anakin Skywalker, now a Sith Lord faces off against his previous Jedi friend and mentor, Obi-Wan Kenobi. This Revenge of the Sith moment gets recreated in Clone Wars.
