House of the Dragon has had almost 10 hours of content that aired over 10 episodes in season 1. However, a lot more did not make the final cut. There have been many deleted scenes from House of the Dragon that fans have wanted to be released. As a matter of fact, some of these scenes have even caused disagreements and outbursts among the audience. So, here are a few deleted scenes that would’ve really impacted the show and changed how we view certain characters, especially Prince Daemon Targaryen.

1. Princess Rhaenyra and Alicent have a fight

A particular scene of Lady Alicent Hightower and Princess Rhaenyra fighting was unfortunately deleted. This scene occurred after Princess Rhaenyra found out about her father, King Viserys and her bestfriend Lady Alicent. The news of their marriage created an explosive divide between the two friends and resulted in a heated argument. This would have further explained the tension between them a year or so later.

2. Daemon comforts his daughters after the death of Lady Laena

This scene getting deleted caused quite a bit of unrest amongst the fans of House of the Dragon, especially fans of Prince Daemon Targaryen. As a matter of fact, this scene would have shown the audience a more humane side of Prince Daemon. After the death of Lady Laena, there was a scene involving Prince Daemon Targaryen comforting his two daughters Baela and Rhaena. As can be seen, the three of them are hugging.

3. Princess Rhaenyra helps Alicent dress up for her wedding

Another scene involving Lady Alicent Hightower and Princess Rhaenyra took place right before the wedding of Alicent and Viserys in House of the Dragon. Basically, Princess Rhaenyra helped Lady Alicent get dressed for her wedding. Consequently, the two friends somewhat reconciliated and supported each other. They share a tender moment together as can be seen in the picture above.

4. Ser Criston Cole is sworn in as a Kingsguard in House of the Dragon

After Princess Rhaenyra chose Ser Criston Cole to be a part of the Kingsguard, there was a swearing in ceremony that ended up getting deleted from House of the Dragon. In fact, Princess Rhaenyra was the one who put the armor on Ser Criston Cole. This would have further increased the magnitude of the scene when the same Princess Rhaenyra takes of his armor and the white cloak.

5. Prince Daemon makes a final toast during the last supper

During the last supper held by King Viserys, several members of his large family made toasts. The long lost friends Alicent and Rhaenyra too set aside their differences as they toasted to a happy future. However, the scene of Prince Daemon making one final toast as a tribute to his brother, the King, was left out of the episode. The showrunners of House of the Dragon thought that it would dilute the tender moment that the brothers shared when Daemon helped Viserys climb up the Iron Throne.

6. Viserys tries to tell Daemon about the Song of Ice and Fire

After the death of Queen Aemma and Prince Baelon, King Viserys had apparently attempted to tell his brother, Prince Daemon Targaryen about Aegon’s Prophecy, the Song of Ice and Fire. However, the King realized that his brother was not yet ready for such sensitive information and did not feel safe sharing it with him. This would’ve added more weight to the scene of Daemon choking Rhaenyra in House of the Dragon.

7. Daemon is nicknamed as the bisexual king by fans of House of the Dragon

While Daemon was in Pentos with his family, there were certain scenes that denoted the great Prince Daemon Targaryen was not straight after all. He was seen flirting with one of the male servers at Pentos and this resulted in his nickname as the Bisexual King in House of the Dragon.

8. Baela proves to be just as fierce as her parents in House of the Dragon

In a particular deleted scene, House of the Dragon further explores the character of Baela Targaryen. After the death of King Viserys and the crowning of Aegon, the Blacks start recruiting allies. Baela volunteers as a dragonrider and puts forth herself portraying the might and valor that any child of Prince Daemon and Lady Laena should have.
