Industry scooper Grace Randolph has reported that Denzel Washington has declined an offer to play Galactus in the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot in 2025. Although Randolph’s track record is hit or miss, fans may now be able to rule out at least one project that Washington won’t be doing.

Opportunities For Washington In The MCU And DCU

Whispers indicate that Galactus will be the big bad of Marvel Studios’ upcoming Fantastic Four reboot, and fans may have been hoping to see Washington play the iconic Marvel villain. However, fans can still expect Washington to nab other Marvel roles in the future. He could become this generation’s Professor X or Magneto or don a super suit and become the cosmic hero Blue Marvel.

Michael B. Jordan, the Black Panther actor, has even mentioned having “some ideas” for where Washington could utilize his talents in the MCU. On the other hand, DCU’s James Gunn is rebooting the DCU, leaving many opportunities for Washington in DC projects. Fans have suggested that he could be the perfect Lucius Fox in a Batman project or a fitting choice to give a rebooted Darkseid his voice.

It is unclear whether Randolph’s rumor is accurate, and neither Marvel nor Disney have commented on the matter. Nevertheless, fans of Washington can look forward to seeing him in other beloved universes such as the MCU or the DCU in the future.
