Tom Cruise is known for his daring and high-risk action stunts, but his life was almost at stake when he decided to take a gear back and get directly involved in action sequences. In the 2014 film “Edge of Tomorrow,” Cruise starred alongside Emily Blunt, and during a car chase scene, Blunt almost killed Cruise.

During an interview on Conan TBS Show, Blunt talked about the car chase scene, which included a minivan that went off the road. While the first take was not good, the film director, Doug Liman, called for a second take in which Blunt was instructed to “go a bit faster.”
As she took the right-hand turn that would affect the minivan to shake, she almost drove them into a tree. Cruise, who was sitting in the passenger seat, kept repeating “Brake, brake, brake” but it was too late, and they collided with a tree.
Blunt said, “I almost killed Tom Cruise,” but despite the terrifying incident, the duo laughed it off.
The Plot Of “Edge of Tomorrow”
The film is adapted from Hiroshi Sakurazaka’s 2004 Japanese novel “All You Need Is Kill,” which takes place in a future occupied by aliens. Cruise’s character, Major William Cage, gets involved in a landing operation against the aliens which gets complicated as he experiences a time loop while trying to find a way to defeat the invaders.
“Edge of Tomorrow” grossed over $370.5 million worldwide in its theatrical run and is now available on Netflix.
