Mark Neveldine, the director of Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, has stated that he wants to see Johnny Blaze destroy the MCU’s Avengers. The 2011 superhero sequel saw Nicolas Cage return to his role as Ghost Rider/Johnny Blaze.
Mark Steven Johnson helmed the 2007 Ghost Rider and did well enough at the box office to warrant a sequel. Idris Elba, Ciarán Hinds, Nicolas Cage, and Christopher Lambert starred in the 2011 sequel to Neveldine’s Ghost Rider.
Johnny Blaze To Destroy Avengers

Since its release, Ghost Rider 2 has been regarded as a cult classic by fans and critics alike. This is so despite the fact that it was poorly received and failed to make much money. Robbie Reyes, a newer Ghost Rider, appeared on ABC’s Agents of SHIELD. Here, he has a different form of the Ghost Rider curse, driving a car instead of a motorcycle. There have been no live-action appearances since the show’s conclusion. The rumors that Ghost Rider is coming back persist, with Cage recently expressing his love for the character.
In an interview with ComicBookMovie, Neveldine said that ” Johnny Blaze will continue to grow his Legend” and that working with Cage was “better than you can imagine”:
“Johnny Blaze will continue to grow his legend. I kind of wish we could have made the rated R version of that movie, but it was one of the greatest times in my life. My first child was born in Romania, and working with Nic Cage was better than you can imagine.”
Ghost Rider In The MCU

Since his creation in 1972, Ghost Rider has taken on a variety of identities, the first of which was Johnny Blaze. Others who have taken on various guises as the classic anti-hero have been Danny Ketch, Alejandra Jones, Robbie Reyes, and Kushana, all of whom carry the Ghost Rider curse. For most of his comic book history, the character has been featured on his own. But since joining teams like The Avengers, the character has become more of a team player. This makes it more difficult for him to fly through groups like that, as Neveldine desires.
The darker Marvel/Netflix shows like Daredevil, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones are now housed on Disney+. In addition to Moon Knight’s debut this month, the MCU will have Ghost Rider in its dark corner of the universe. In the MCU, the Spirit of Vengeance is likely to return. This is despite whether Marvel chooses to use Cage or Luna, or start from scratch. Either way, fans may get to witness Johnny Blaze destroy Avengers just like Neveldine hopes for.
