After suffering a setback due to the divisive Sequel Trilogy, the Star Wars franchise is back and better than ever on the Disney+ streaming service. In fact, it feels like it has got a new lease of life on the small screen thanks to the success of The Mandalorian.
And it looks like they aren’t stopping anytime soon.
After all, now there are a tonne of spin-offs of The Mandalorian that will hit Disney+ soon. Some of these spin-off shows are The Book of Boba Fett, Andor, and Ahsoka.
They will help flesh out the time period of the galaxy that The Mandalorian is set in while taking their own narrative journeys. One of the most anticipated shows is the Rosario Dawson starrer Ahsoka.
This show will mark the Togruta warrior’s first solo story after her seven-season full narrative journey in the animated series titled The Clone Wars. After that, she got a renaissance when she was brought into live-action on the second season of the Mandalorian.
Ahsoka was originally brought in to tell Baby Yoda his true name of Grogu. But in her solo series, she will get to go on her own personal journey. And joining her will be Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader.
Rumors on the streets are all about how Anakin will either show up as a Force Ghost or in flashbacks. Some are even saying that Ahsoka will meet him in the World Between Worlds.
Now, there’s no way to confirm the capacity and form that Hayden Christensen will be in the show right now. So it’s better that we bask in this casting news and celebrate it, just like Rosario Dawson is doing.
In a now-deleted Instagram post, Ahsoka star Rosario Dawson welcomed Hayden Christensen in the role of Anakin Skywalker/ Darth Vader in her show.
Referring to Ashoka and Anakin’s nicknames from The Clone Wars animated series- “Skyguy” and “Snips,” Dawson shared a post with a picture of Christensen and the reported news of his return.
Here’s the screenshot of the post:
The relationship between Ahsoka Tano and Anakin Skywalker was one of the pillars of The Clone Wars. It helped show Anakin trying to be a leader while putting Ahsoka on the path to be a Jedi Master herself.
Overall, this relationship helped Ahsoka become one of the most popular Star Wars characters even before Rosario Dawson portrayed the character in live-action.
So Anakin coming back only adds intrigue and excitement. After all, this is the second time we will be seeing him on a Disney+ Star Wars show, in the role that made him famous.
By now, everyone knows that the first time we will see him as Anakin or Vader again will be in the Obi-Wan Kenobi show. Right now, it looks like Darth Vader is all poised to be a major player in the future of the galaxy far far away.
Now, Dawson deleting the post surprised everyone. But it’s probably because the marketing team wanted to be safe rather than sorry in regards to potential plot leaks. Sometimes it is like that.
However, it can’t be denied that everyone is excited to see Hayden Christensen become Anakin or Vader once again. We are hoping that a little of The Clone Wars magic seeps into this show and makes it as great as the animated series.
