Tom Holland’s contract to portray the web-slinging hero in the MCU films ended with No Way Home, but there have been reports that Marvel and Sony have reached a deal that might lead to the hero’s return.
Since Marvel and Sony both stated that Peter Parker would return in Spider-Man 4, the movie has been a hot topic for almost a year. Kevin Feige stated that the two studios would begin production on the following film soon after No Way Home was released, although he did not provide a Spider-Man 4 release date.
It appears that Disney and Sony are nearing a new Spider-Man agreement. This agreement would not just apply to Spider-Man 4, but also to other MCU projects that would undoubtedly benefit from Spidey’s involvement.
Tobey And Andrew’s Return ?
If you are unaware, Spider-Man: No Way Home marked the conclusion of the Tom Holland trilogy and featured both Andrew and Tobey reprising their roles as Peter Parker alongside Holland. It goes without saying that Tom will don his superhero costume once more for Spider-Man 4, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, and Avengers: Secret Wars, but it turns out the other two are also participating.
It is official that Andrew Garfield has joined the cast of Avengers: Secret Wars, which also reportedly includes Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man. Ryan Coogler, known for his work on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, is now rumored to be directing Secret Wars. Phase 6’s last movie is shaping up to be a beast.

Another insider, Grace Randolph, who is renowned for dispensing reliable reports with a high probability of being accurate, has claimed that Disney and Sony have once again struck an agreement that solidifies the return of Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After this is over, we’ll start working on getting Tom Holland back to the camp.
Leaving Spider-Man 4 aside, it is undeniable that Spider-Man’s inclusion in the Avengers series will be extremely advantageous. However, Sony’s victory is even greater given that the Sony Spider-Man Universe is still giving the studio problems. The SSU will take time to build, and Sony’s most recent Spider-Man-related films haven’t exactly won praise from critics.
Even though the Disney-Sony contract is still a rumor, if it holds true that Spider-Man 4 will be released in July 2024, the two sides will need to quickly reach a settlement.
