Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk have returned to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Phase 4, much to the delight of fans of the Netflix series Daredevil. The two adversaries are set to reunite in the upcoming 18-episode reboot of the series titled Daredevil: Born Again. However, it is currently unknown if any other cast members from the original series will also be returning, leaving fans to wonder about the fate of Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page and Elden Henson’s Foggy Nelson, even though Cox and D’Onofrio are confirmed to reprise their roles.

Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson will reportedly not be reprising their roles as Karen Page and Foggy Nelson in the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series on Disney+, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The two actors were notably absent from the roll call following the start of production, leaving fans unsure if the characters will be abandoned or recast. Henson’s Foggy Nelson was Matt Murdock’s best friend and original legal partner, while Karen Page evolved from being the office manager to becoming a member of the law firm Nelson, Murdock, and Page by the end of the original Netflix series.

On a positive note, Jon Bernthal has been confirmed to return as The Punisher from Daredevil Season 2 and his own standalone series. The actor will join Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin, and other cast members in the upcoming series, which has already begun filming in New York City. Neither Marvel Studios nor Disney has commented on The Hollywood Reporter’s report at this time.

Why Has Marvel Excluded Deborah Ann Woll And Elden Henson?

In the original Netflix series Daredevil, Matt Murdock, Foggy Nelson, and Karen Page were in the process of forming their own law firm by the end of the show. As the upcoming series Daredevil: Born Again is said to be a legal drama, it is difficult to imagine these characters not playing a role, provided the original series remains canon.

Filming for Daredevil: Born Again’s 18-episode season is taking place in New York City from now until the end of 2023, with a planned Spring 2024 premiere. Although Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson are currently absent from the roll call, plans could change over the year, and they may be called back to shoot some scenes.

Alternatively, Marvel Studios may choose to recast these characters for unknown reasons, but with Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Jon Bernthal all returning, it seems unlikely, especially as the original actors seem interested in reprising their roles.

It’s possible that Marvel Studios may choose to exclude Nelson and Page from Born Again to give Murdock some new legal companions and avoid continuing plot threads from the Netflix series that could create continuity problems.
