Disney+ has become the home of Star Wars for now with shows like “The Mandalorian,” “The Bad Batch, “The Book of Boba Fett, and “Obi-Wan Kenobi.” But that’s not all. Joining this list will soon be “Ahsoka.” However, these shows just expand on the Original and Prequel Trilogy of films. What about the Sequels? Well, there’s a rumor going around about Rey and Grogu that will surely make you raise your eyebrows.

A Project With Grogu And Rey

Even though fans are missing seeing the adventures in a galaxy far far away on the big screen, they are satiated with the offerings on Disney+. Also, the franchise is finally building back its reputation on the streaming service after enduring unending criticism for its Sequel Trilogy films. But fans want more.

For months now, there have been unending speculation in the Star Wars fandom about the “Ahsoka” show. It was rumored that the show will eventually lead to the titular character teaming up with Rey and Ben Solo.

However, now a new rumor doing the rounds of reddit and it is saying something else entirely. Apparently, Disney is developing a Sequel project that will focus on Rey building a relationship with Grogu. The show will possibly be about the two of them going on adventures.

What Are The Merits Of Such A Show?

Baby Yoda is definitely a breakout character. So pairing him with Rey, who hasn’t been received that well by audiences, could be a good tactic. After all, it might endear her to audiences. As a result, Lucasfilm might be able to develop more projects surrounding her.

However, for now this is just a baseless rumor and it hasn’t even been reported by any trusted Star Wars sources. Also, even though Daisy Ridley was recently spotted at Lucasfilm offices, she clarified that she was there for just lunch, Also, at a recent interview with Variety, the actress confirmed that Lucasfilm hasn’t contacted her for anything Star Wars related.

But a lot of Star Wars fans are also getting tired of watching shows set in the Prequel and Original era. So a project that will expand on the Sequels will be welcomed by many. Whether this project ultimately manifests or not remains to be seen.

Stay tuned for more details.
