Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange 2 in the Multiverse of Madness is the next movie to become part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The MCU’s line-up to this point has been impressive to date. It looks like the scope of the MCU is going to get bigger as events get even more complicated.
Benedict Wong’s Sorcerer Supreme Wong and Xochitl Gomez’s America Chavez join Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange as the trio takes on one of their biggest threats. The threat being an old friend, Wanda a.k.a, The Scartlet Witch.
The first two trailers have completely wowed fans, with excitement, speculation, and general conversation, all at a high level. Patrick Stewart was hinted to be playing Charles Xavier and we get to see a Zombie Doctor Strange.
Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness comes six years after his own debut in 2016. Since every big movie in Hollywood has a premiere, this one’s scheduled for May 2nd. That’s pretty close, asssuming the ways Disney and Marvel are trying to keep a lock on the details of the movie.
Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness will have its official red carpet premiere date in Los Angeles on Monday, May 2, from 6:30pm to 10:30pm PST. On May 6, the movie Multiverse of Madness will be released around the world in theatres. This premiere will be on the same week, which isn’t typical for many Marvel Studios movies. Since, the red carpet events for both Shang-Chi and Eternals occurred two-and-a-half weeks before their theatrical debuts.
Disney and Marvel Studios may be trying to keep spoilers from getting out in the days before the movie comes out. The sequel is said to have a lot of spoilers and Multiverse-themed cameos. Marvel Studios did the same thing for the Los Angeles premieres of Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Spider-Man: No Way Home. These three movies had a lot of characters and scenes that could be spoilers.
However, Marvel Studios has already kind of let the cat out of the bag when it comes to keeping secrets safe.
It’s possible for people at the Doctor Strange 2 red carpet premiere to see Benedict Cumberbatch, Xochitl Gomez, Michael Stuhlbarg, Rachel McAdams, and Sam Raimi.
The event is said to be Invite only; you cannot go in with another without a ticket.
It’s a fact that movies are integral to the MCU. It’s prime USP being cameos and the multiverse. When the Eternals was released, it’s biggest USP was leaked Day One after the premiere. The role of Starfox a.k.a, Eros, played by Harry Styles, was spoiled in a tweet by Variety. This called for much hate against the organization for doing so.
Marvel and Disney weren’t pleased with it. Hence, they decided to bring the premiere and release dates closer.
It’s clear that this red carpet event isn’t something you can just buy tickets to. The fans can still gather around the area. The audience could maybe get to meet some of the stars as they enter the theatre. This is a common sight at most red carpet premieres.
Before Spider-Man: No Way Home came out, there were a lot of rumours and leaks about Doctor Strange 2 itself. There are so many new Marvel Studios projects going on. Thus, it seems like it’s getting more difficult for the company to keep its cards under wraps without anyone else seeing them first.
Doctor Strange: Multiverse Of Madness will release in theaters worldwide, May 6th 2022.
