Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness is MCU’s one of the most adventurous projects so far. It seems like the movie is going to cross all the boundaries the MCU had so far. Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen, together on screen, is just the perfect recipe for a blockbuster.
Fans have caught a few glimpses of the trailer in Spiderman: No Way Home’s post-credit scene. Yet the details of the film are still in the dark. Besides Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch, the movie could also lead to the meeting of new and unexpected heroes from other universes. The original synopsis teased Strange‘s prominence within the Avengers and his huge magical ambitions, but the plot description is hinting at things much bigger than that.
Disney has revealed the synopsis and names of the cast and crew working in the film. The synopsis hinted at story-bits with phrases like storytelling within the Multiverse which “pushes its boundaries”, “exploring dangerous alternate realities” and heroes facing a “mysterious new adversary:”
“In Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.”
The press release has listed seven starring actors for the movie, including Michael Stühlbarg, who will return as Dr. Nicodemus West, and Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer. The sole head writer of the movie is Michael Waldron.
“Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, with Michael Stühlbarg, and Rachel McAdams. The film is directed by Sam Raimi, and Kevin Feige is the producer. The screenplay was written by Michael Waldron. “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” releases in U.S. theaters on May 6, 2022”
Spider-Man: No Way Home has opened up a door of ‘multiverse madness’, featuring three Spider-Men and five villains. Characters from other universes swept into the MCU, in No Way Home’s ending battle, hinting at the full scope of the Multiverse. It seems like those multiverse realities are going to be on the big screen in all their glory. In the first trailer for the sequel, fans saw a hint of the worlds beyond the MCU’s borders, largely as strange buildings and mystical creatures that appeared at random.
The footage ended with Dr.Strange saying ‘Things just got out of hand’, which speaks for itself. As the Multiverse fully unleashes, we can see what a danger Strange and the squad will face.
It doesn’t look like Multiverse of Madness is holding back on wild alternate-universe cameos or supernatural action. Marvel hasn’t released specifics about that danger yet. Although as the release date draws nearer, it will show fans what kind of rollercoaster ride awaits them.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will hit the theatres on May 6, 2022.
