Doctor Strange’s journey through the Multiverse of Madness was filled with surprises for him, including the incorporation of Clea and the return of a villain more compelling than Thanos. Doctor Strange faced off against Scarlet Witch and her multiverse counterparts throughout the film, but he prevailed. However, his actions had repercussions. As Doctor Strange 2’s Clea appeared in the post-credits scene, the MCU became even more exciting, as Clea will usher in the return of Doctor Strange’s most dangerous foe, which will make the MCU even more exciting.

Doctor Strange traverses the multiverse to protect America Chavez in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The film’s post-credits scene showed a shadowy woman exiting a portal from the Dark Dimension after he came back to Earth-616 and America was safe inside the Kamar-Taj. We later learned that she was Clea and that she had informed Doctor Strange of his involvement in an incursion and requested his assistance in stopping it before numerous worlds were destroyed. In the Dark Dimension, Doctor Strange followed Clea through the third eye he had just acquired.

Dormammu’s Return In The MCU

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ post-credits scene hinted that Dormammu would return to the MCU because of Clea’s connections to Doctor Strange, Dormammu, and the Dark Dimension. Before Avengers: Endgame, Thanos was the most dangerous villain. For all the MCU heroes that he ruined more than any other villain, Thanos has been shown to be the MCU’s most mighty villain. It is possible that Doctor Strange 2’s Clea’s appearance indicates that the MCU will continue to explore Dormammu and the Dark Dimension. In the MCU, if Dormammu’s power is fully exploited as it is in the Marvel comics, he will surpass Thanos in power.

The Dark Dimension and other dimensions are not a problem for Dormammu, who, unlike Thanos, does not require the infinity stones to do his bidding. In the comics, Dormammu has shown the ability to manipulate matter, teleport, and even raise the dead. The MCU and the comics have both shown how Dormammu has given zealots like Kaecilius (Mads Mikkelsen) a dangerous amount of power. Doctor Strange was killed by the mystic energy of Dormamu in addition. Doctor Strange was capable of defeating Dormammu using a time loop and escaping death while negotiating for the safety of Earth-616 thanks to the power of the time stone. When confronted by Dormammu in the Marvel films and comics, he proved to be an entity that could only be bargained with or evaded. After the events of Avengers: Endgame, Doctor Strange will be left without the time stone and will have to rethink his strategy to defeat Dormammu.

Saving The Universe Now Has Repercussions

Due to the fact that Clea is his niece, Dormammu’s arrival foretold danger. Clea was born and raised in the shadows and drew her strength from them. At the end of Doctor Strange 2, she and Doctor Strange jumped into the Dark Dimension to save the universe. If Clea is worried about the universe’s security because of Dormammu and the dark dimension, then so should Doctor Strange. While Thanos had an army and the infinity stones, Dormammu had the power of magic and the Dark Dimension on his side, making him a formidable foe.

It was only in the first Doctor Strange film that the audience got a glimpse of Dormammu’s influence and the Dark Dimension’s boundless potential. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness ended with a cameo from Clea, proving that Dormammu’s influence on the MCU is far from dead. It’s only just begun, in fact. It will take more than an infinity stone to defeat Dormammu a second time if his magical power over the Dark Dimension is as powerful in the MCU and the comics. Doctor Strange in Multiverse of Madness may have given the mystic a glimmer of hope after the appearance of Clea.
