While it will be some time before Star Wars returns to the big screen after the Skywalker Saga concluded with Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, the series is now being carried by the television world. Those attempts began with the release of The Mandalorian in 2019, which starred Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin, a character that took the world by storm when he first appeared.

Despite the fact that Season 3 of The Mandalorian is still a ways off, the interstellar warrior has been probably the most prominent figure in Star Wars’ television expansion in recent years. The hero has carved himself his own niche in the Star Wars universe outside of the 11 movies from the past 45 years, with two seasons of his own program and a role in the final three chapters of The Book of Boba Fett Season 1.

Fans, on the other hand, question if Pascal, as one of the most well-known faces from Lucasfilm’s small-screen projects, will ever be considered for a role in a future Star Wars picture. Pascal, it turns out, has considered this, and it’s something he’d want to see happen someday.

Pedro Pascal Addresses The Idea of The Mandalorian In Theaters

Pedro Pascal Prefers To Wear Helmet On The Mandalorian

Pedro Pascal, star of The Mandalorian, spoke with Variety at Star Wars Celebration about the possibilities of bringing the show’s tale to the big screen. When asked when his programme would be adapted for the big screen, Pascal agreed that it’s “inevitable,” but he has no clue when it might happen. He did, however, express his eagerness to watch a Mandalorian film:

“That is an excellent question. Do you not believe it is unavoidable? Personally, I’m not sure, but that would be a dream come true for me. There’s no way any more dreams could come true! Maybe I’ve had enough.”

Even with the work he’s doing to help construct the expanded universe in the Disney+ sphere, Pascal expressed how nice it’s been to return to the big screen in general with the entertainment sector. He praised the fact that fans are returning and enjoying these events as a group, and he expressed his desire to see the same thing happen with The Mandalorian: Wrath of Khan.

“Yeah, and just seeing the clip on such a large screen, the way it envelops you and transports you back. At the same time, having the intimate experience that we do with these Mandalorian chapters and everything, its extended universe, all that is to come, everything that has just begun as far as Obi-Wan Kenobi, is beyond remarkable. And we’re working on it. It must be incredible for you to see the entertainment industry evolve in so many fresh and varied ways. I enjoy going to the movies, and I’ve returned. Being able to be in front of an audience again is one of the most important things to me. All I can say is…please, if it happens with The Mandalorian.”

The key question is whether Pascal would star in or play a supporting role in a Mandalorian film, especially since his solo series takes place immediately after the original trilogy. Because Star Wars is clearly open to doing prequel-style films like Rogue One and Solo, Pascal has the opportunity to take on that challenge. but there are no indications as to when that would happen.

Regardless of those facts, the groundwork is in place for Din Djarin and potentially some of the supporting actors to make the leap to the big screen if Lucasfilm chooses to do so. When his own solo series’ third season premieres, it will help propel his story forward in innovative ways, and after that, the road ahead appears to be clear for the franchise’s OG Disney+ star.
