Albanian-British pop star Dua Lipa is all set to make her acting debut in Greta Gerwig’s upcoming Barbie movie. Dua joins the ensemble cast, which already includes Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Nucti Gatwa, Emma Mackey, Simu Liu, and Nicola McCoughlan, as an assortment of other Barbies and Kens. In a widely circulated poster, Dua is seen posing with a blue wig, with the sub-heading proclaiming that ‘this Barbie is a mermaid.’

Dua Lipa’s official casting follows months of rumors, and there’s also been confirmation that she has recorded several brand new tracks for inclusion on the film’s soundtrack – her first official release since the highly successful Future Nostalgia era has come to an end.

Dua’s role in the movie and her music for the soundtrack will undoubtedly bolster her acting ambitions.
