Elizabeth Olsen and Benedict Olsen didn’t share any scenes in Avengers: Endgame. Or did they? Actress reveals there was a deleted scene
Elizabeth Olsen and Benedict Cumberbatch shared screen space in “Doctor Strange 2.” Previously, even though they were part of the same team in “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame,” we didn’t really see them share any scenes. But apparently there was a scene where they would be fighting each other. However, it was deleted. Now, Elizabeth Olsen is talking about that.
Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange
Elizabeth Olsen recently discussed some behind-the-scenes photos from the set of “Avengers: Endgame.” She talked about a cut scene involving herself and Benedict Cumberbatch. In the scene, they were working together for the first time during additional photography for the film.
Even though she is unsure if the scene made it into the final cut, Olsen recalls that it involved Doctor Strange throwing a fireball and then her character, Scarlet Witch, also throwing a fireball. Here’s what she said:
“That’s um, I don’t even know if that was in the movie. But that’s Benedict and I the first time on-set together in the MCU when we were doing additional photography for ‘Endgame’. And they had just added a piece where [Doctor Strange] threw a fireball or something and then I threw a fireball or something. I don’t even know if it’s in it. But that was our first time working together.”
Olsen and Cumberbatch would later play enemies in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.”
Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, and Paul Bettany on Infinity war sets
The video also features a photo of Olsen’s character, Wanda Maximoff, in one of her most traumatic moments from “Avengers: Infinity War.” Although the Russo Brothers had posted the photo, Olsen expressed confusion about her expression in it and what she was doing at that moment. She said:
“I feel like the Russo Brothers released that photo. You guys, I don’t know, we do a lot of – this day was filled with lots of tears and improvising Vision’s death. And, I’d think we’d finish my coverage and I was relieved and I was – I don’t know what I’m doing there.”
She suggested that she could have been serving as an off-camera eye line for Paul Bettany, who plays Vision in the film. However, she says that she cannot say for sure. As per the actress:
“I don’t know if I’m an off-camera eye line for him and I didn’t care? I have no idea why I’m smiling. But just look at Brolin and his get up. It’s very funny working on these sets, even in the sad moments.”
Despite the emotional gravity of the scene, Olsen remarked that humor that can arise on set, even in somber moments. We don’t know where elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch will appear next. But it’s possible that if not in “Agatha: Coven of Chaos,” she will return during the next Avengers movies.
