When it comes to Marvel Studios’ plans for Disney+ in the year ahead, fans can rest easy knowing that Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight will be making an appearance. Star-studded cast: Isaac as Marc Spector and Ethan Hawke in an undisclosed role in Moon Knight since D23’s announcement at 2019’s Expo.

Speculations Can Be Put To Rest

Despite Hawke’s character remaining a mystery, fans have been speculating about it. Ethan Hawke has been compared to everything from Marvel’s Dracula to the Egyptian deity Sun King, but each of these comparisons has been based on scant evidence. It is only known that Hawke’s character will be the “lead villain,” based on the cult leader “David Koresh” in the film.

Hawke has kept quiet about his upcoming Marvel project since he teased that he and Isaac would be “fighting for good and evil” in this series. The first footage from Moon Knight was shown on Disney+ Day earlier this month, but none of it featured Hawke. For those who haven’t yet seen Hawke in costume, he has once again hinted at his character’s connection to higher powers.

The Mysterious Moon Knight Role

There are still many mysteries surrounding the plot of Moon Knight, but one of its most prominent stars is eager to tell everyone what he knows. This is “so difficult” to keep quiet about, Ethan Hawke said in an interview with Variety about his new Marvel movie.

For now, the public has no idea what Hawke will be playing in the Marvel film. Nonetheless, the actor has said that he has revealed “everything” to his son. These include questions about the Marvel gods:

“My son has to know everything. He’s 19. He was the perfect age for the Marvel Universe. He came of age as that whole explosion happened. Whenever I needed to know the backstory behind this god or this character, he’s like, ‘Ah, Dad! Let me correct you on that.’ He was my go to resource.”

Is The MCU Getting The Sun King?

Marc Spector’s rogues’ gallery on the page only has a few characters that match Hawke’s physical attributes. Because of this, speculation focused on Dracula and the Sun King. Preliminary images did not reveal much about Hawke’s character. However, descriptions stated that the actor had a cane in his hand. However, Hawke’s recent comments have shifted the focus from Dracula to the Sun King because of the prop’s association with the Marvel version of the iconic vampire.

Sun King is the human representation of the Egyptian sun god Amon Ra. This character is the opposite of Spector’s moon god, Khonshu, in comic books. After being released from a mental institution, the Sun King slowly gained followers on his mission to take down Khonshu. He does so before deciding to team up with Moon Knight to defeat a common enemy. After putting together all of Hawke’s clues, it’s clear that the Sun King is who he claims to be.

“Fighting for good and evil”? Khonshu is under attack by the Sun King, who later aids the Moon Knight. Was he “based [his character] after David Koresh?” The Sun King, like Koresh, is a pseudo-cult leader. This god or character’s origin story? When it comes to Amon Ra, he’s both an Egyptian sun god and an actual human.
