Marvel Studios has released the second trailer for “Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.” The latest trailer has revealed new information about the characters in the film while also reiterating the same themes that were shown in the first one.

One of the things (or rings) shown in the trailer caught our eye and we think that Marvel might finally reveal what is the origin of Shang-Chi’s Ten Rings in the film. Let us tell you all about it below:

There is a rumor going around that Shang-Chi’s Ten Rings aren’t made of magic or alien tech. Instead, they are supposedly made by Kang using 31st century technology. And it looks like the new “Ant-Man 3” trailer has hinted at this speculation being true.

In the newest trailer we see Kang and Ant-Man talking underneath giant spinning rings with runes on them. And these look like the ones Shang-Chi has. So does this mean that Kang is the one who made the Ten Rings?

We can’t say for certain but it could hint at that. Also, it’s important to note that a lot of circular ring like imagery is associated with Kang. In “Loki” we saw that there were circular glass panels behind He Who Remains.

Also, he used circular plates to denote the multiverse and timelines when he was explaining them. Then again in the “Ant-Man 3” trailer we saw his circular hoverplate and the floating rings surrounding him. So it’s possible that there’s some connection between him and the rings.

In the pages of Marvel Comics, Shang-Chi’s Ten Rings come from the planet Maklu-IV and more specifically, from the Axonn-Karr race. This alien species came to Earth to conquer it and used the Ten Rings to power their spaceships.

But the people of Earth defeated the invaders and forced them to seek shelter in a cave. There the Mandarin got hold of the powerful rings. Whether Marvel Studios decides to make the Ten Rings alien tech or 31st century Kang tech remains to be seen.
