In the Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi universe, for the greater part of a decade, Obi-Wan has been preparing numerous strategies to achieve his goals. At long last, a new season of this show is almost here. Since Lucasfilm’s acquisition, Star Wars fans have wished for a film starring Ewan McGregor as the revered Jedi Master.

A lot of people have questioned him about returning to this job. Throughout the years, he has expressed his willingness to do so while maintaining that no such conversations have taken place. At the 2019 D-23 Convention, Kathleen Kennedy unveiled the news that McGregor would assume his Jedi robes once more.

Deborah Chow gained notoriety for her work on The Mandalorian’s first season. She was also subsequently announced to direct the series. However, Joby Harold finally took over writing responsibilities after prior plans fell through. The outbreak of Covid-19 put a stop to everything, but Obi-Wan Kenobi began filming this spring. The series has been in development since before the release of The Force Awakens. But it is now safe to say that the project is nearing completion.

While in conversation with Variety, Ewan McGregor affirmed that Obi-Wan Kenobi has finally finished shooting. The Trainspotting actor also assured that the Star Wars fan will not be disappointed, i.e. will be very pleased. Here’s what he said;

“We finished shooting our series. It was really, really good fun. I really enjoyed working with Deborah Chow. I think it will not disappoint. It’s gonna be good.”

Considering how long fans had to wait till production had to end, McGregor had nothing but positive thoughts about his fellow cast members. This is what he said about them;

“I had a really good time making it and worked with some really wonderful, lovely people.”

Furthermore, he did not fail to mention the use of the Volume technology. The actor also discussed his thoughts on how unique the filming procedure for Kenobi was different from the prequel trilogy.

“The new technology we employed was cool. It was a different experience than making the original three films that I did, and I really, really liked it.”

Fans of Star Wars have been extremely patient, and their perseverance will soon be rewarded handsomely. A television series based on the film Obi-Wan Kenobi will eventually show more of the elderly wizard’s experiences during his exile. Prequel actor Ewan McGregor, largely regarded as the greatest in the prequel trilogy, has the chance to truly show off his acting abilities in a narrative that will certainly get inside Obi-Wan’s brain.

The actor mentioned the wonderful individuals he had the pleasure of working with, and Hayden Christensen was undoubtedly one of them. Obi-Wan describes Anakin as a brotherly figure, and losing someone so dear to him to the dark side will weigh hard on the Jedi Master as he embarks on this new quest.

While he can’t save his former student, Obi-Wan can safeguard his children, which he will supposedly do in the upcoming series. Rather than saving Luke from a threat, Kenobi’s quest will be initiated by a threat to Leia. It’s unclear how Vader and other well-known characters will fit into the story, but it’s clear that McGregor is excited about the prospect of working on it.

While Lucasfilm prefers to keep things under wraps, this is the second high-profile director to promote a future Star Wars series, the first being the extremely confident Robert Rodriguez for The Book of Boba Fett. Fans can anticipate top-notch acting and directing, as well as an engrossing plot. It will be a dream come true for many when Obi-Wan Kenobi is released in 2022.
