Marvel may utilize Black Panther 2 to lay the groundwork for the Illuminati and Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Univers. Black Panther 2 can affect the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe by introducing or at the very least teasing new characters and themes that will be crucial to the following slate of Marvel films.

There will be a few new characters in Black Panther 2, including Tenoch Huerta’s Namor the Submariner, an anti-hero Marvel Studios has acquired the rights to utilize in film. Bringing the whole city of Atlantis with him, the future sequel will have the undersea country of Atlantis fighting Wakanda with the help of Ironheart technology developed by Dominique Thorne.

The Brief Introduction To The Illuminati

Namor is also a part of Marvel Comics’ Illuminati, who made their first appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. As Atlantis goes to war with Wakanda, Namor the Sub-Mariner, makes his MCU debut, thus setting the groundwork for developing an Illuminati in Earth-616 in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

The MCU’s first look at a superhuman/mutant council came in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, when the Illuminati made a brief appearance. It’s based on a far older and more secretive super squad on Earth-838. Iron Man, Namor, Doctor Strange, Reed Richards, Black Bolt, Professor Charles Xavier, and Black Panther were the founding members of the Illuminati when they first appeared in Marvel Comics in 2005’s New Avengers #7.

Tony Stark realizes that all these heroes know extraterrestrial species before the conflict spilled over to Earth. They could have avoided the problem if they had pooled their resources, which is why Iron Man wants to create a government of superhumans specifically. They all reject the concept, citing various reasons why it’s a poor one. But they also agree to meet frequently in secret, which is how the Illuminati of Marvel Comics came to be. Only T’Challa declines to join, claiming that it would end in disaster.

Here Comes Namor

Indeed, the Illuminati enabled the Skrull invasion of Earth and even sent Hulk to outer space due to their actions. As Namor informs the Illuminati after almost drowning Stark, Black Panther was correct. However, despite its flaws, the Illuminati becomes essential in avoiding the destruction of the Earth and maybe the whole Marvel Universe.

As a way of redeeming the dismal representation of the Illuminati in Doctor Strange 2, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever may provide a genuine recreation of the core Marvel Comics super squad – beginning with Namor. A post-Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Black Panther might lead to a new Illuminati being formed on Earth-616 based on the heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including the new Black Panther, Namor, and Doctor Strange.

Doctor Strange might form a comparable council for superhuman matters if he learns how Earth-838’s Illuminati stopped Earth-838’s power-hungry Stephen Strange variation. A similar outcome will occur when Earth’s two most powerful countries go to war, resulting in Earth-616 Illuminati being formed.

Who Will Be Part Of The MCU’s Illuminati in the future?

Wakanda Forever might lead to Earth-616 Illuminati, which a new Black Panther, Strange, would head, and Namor, to avert yet another horrific conflict or disaster like that in the comics. Wong, Captain Marvel, and Bruce Banner are also expected to join. Val may be included among those who represent the underworld regarding Illuminati membership. I doubt that Phase 5 of the MCU would be a great time for the MCU to bring back the Illuminati.

Even though Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is the last MCU Phase 4 film, the first MCU Phase 5 television series is called Secret Invasion, which derives its title from the Skrull invasion of Earth comic book series by the same name in Marvel Comics. Skrulls enter Earth under the guise of superheroes in the comics, dividing the Illuminati from the rest of Earth’s heroes.

Additionally, Secret Invasion sets up the Illuminati with a task worthy of their aggregate might and clout, as the MCU’s Skrull race is shown to be as terrible as the Kree. Marvel’s 14-year history is best represented by a more comics-accurate depiction of the Illuminati. The new Illuminati in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever might potentially become the baddies in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty after the film.
