The Fantastic Four movie from the MCU will hit theatres on November 8, 2024. This new project is now the lead-off hitter for Phase 6 as the MCU marches towards an all-out Multiversal conflict, more than 18 months after the movie was first revealed to be in production during Disney Investor Day 2020.

Marvel Studios has a fantastic opportunity to place Marvel’s First Family in the same continuity as Earth’s Mightiest Heroes after three solo films from 20th Century Fox that varied from “OK” to “widely disliked.” But many are asking if the Fantastic Four might appear before their own standalone film, given how much interest there is in their entry into the MCU.

In  Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Mr. Fantastic, played by John Krasinski, appeared alongside the Illuminati in a cameo appearance. While opinions on Krasinski’s choice to play the MCU’s Earth-616 Reed Richards are still divided, he was the first member of the team to  move from Fox to Marvel Studios.

The MCU’s Multiverse was initially introduced to viewers with Loki’s first season, which also featured He Who Remains, a variation of Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror. The Fantastic Four might make their MCU debut in the expanding Disney+ series, given the themes and characters established in it.

The team has a significant relationship with, ‘He Who Remains’ from Season 1 because Nathaniel Richards, the original Kang, is a descendent of Fantastic Four team leader Reed Richards. That Variant gave credence to the idea that they were related in some way in the MCU as well, confirming that he was a version of a 31st-century scientist just like Nathaniel was in the comics.

The Fantastic Four may be trapped someplace in the vast and uncharted Multiverse because of how thoroughly this show addressed the subject of other realities. As part of his strategy for multiversal dominance, Kang may be keeping them imprisoned and outside of the “Sacred Timeline,” and Season 2 may provide the God of Mischief with the chance to locate them as he works to assist the Time Variance Authority in cleaning up the mess from Season 1.
